Section Rajya Sabha Diary and Calendar for the year 2012 The Rajya Sabha Diaries (big and small sized) with names of Members embossed thereon and the Calendar, for the year 2012 are now available for distribution. Members are, therefore, requested to collect their Diaries and two Calendars from the Rajya Sabha Publications Counter, Room No.26-A, Parliament House. No.: M.S&A Branch Availability of Salary Slip on the Rajya Sabha Members login. Members are informed that their salary slips from December, 2011 onwards will now be available on Rajya Sabha Members login of Rajya Sabha home page. Members are requested to access their salary slips from the Members login in future. In case of difficulty, Members may contact MS&A Branch, Rajya Sabha Secretariat, Tel. No & Kind co-operation of Members is solicited.

2 2 No.: Inclusion of Computer Monitor and External Hard Drive in the list of approved items that can be purchased by Members under the Scheme of Financial Entitlement. Members are informed that the Committee on Provision of Computer 2011 has decided that Computer monitor and External Hard Drive be included in the list of approved items that can be purchased by Members under the Scheme of Financial Entitlement of Members of Rajya Sabha. 2. Accordingly, Members can, if required, purchase Computer monitor and External Hard Drive using their Financial Entitlement for purchase of computer equipment under the Provision of Computer Equipment (Members of Rajya Sabha and Officers) Rules, No.: Provision of additional SIMs for using Blackberry Services and Data Card of MTNL/BSNL Members may recall that the Committee on Provision of Computer Equipment to Members of Rajya Sabha had approved the following package of Blackberry Services offered by MTNL/BSNL for Members of Rajya Sabha:- Service/Plan name Unlimited Blackberry 3G Data Usage ipad Unlimited Data Usage Missed Call Alerts Fixed Monthly charges (taxes extra as applicable) Rs.999/- Rs.999/- Free Facilities Unlimited free data download & unlimited Blackberry service and Instant Messaging. Unlimited free data download. User gets SMS alert regarding calls missed while out of reach/number busy/not answered etc.

3 3 Mobile TV Rs.75/- Approx 50 plus non-premium channels will be provided under this facility. Data Card 3.6 Mbps Rs.1,600/- As per 3G plans provided to Members. 2. Members are informed that the Committee on Provision of Computer 2011 has approved that Members can obtain two additional SIMs for using Blackberry Services and Data Card of MTNL/BSNL (besides 3 SIM cards members get - one SIM for Delhi phone, one SIM for the constituency phone and one more SIM for the Tablet device). 3. No No.: Unlimited 3G service package of MTNL/BSNL for e-reader Tablet devices Members are informed that the Committee on Provision of Computer 2011, has approved that Members can obtain unlimited 3G service package of MTNL and BSNL to get internet connectivity on their e-reader Tablet devices (Apple ipad or Samsung Galaxy Rs. 999/- per month, which will be adjusted against the free calls available to Members. 4 4 No.: Committee Co-ordination Section Meeting of the Parliamentary Forum on Population and Public Health As intimated by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, the Speaker, Lok Sabha in consultation with the Chairman, Rajya Sabha has constituted the Parliamentary Forum on Population and Public Health with the broad aim and objective to identify and discuss the problems relating to population and public health and to equip the Members of Parliament with the information and knowledge related to population and public health and to make them aware of the seriousness of the issues involved, which would enable them to adopt a resultoriented approach towards this critical issue. 2. A meeting of the Parliamentary Forum on Population and Public Health will be held on Tuesday, 13 December, 2011 at 1530 hrs. in Committee Room No. 074, Ground Floor, Parliament Library Building, New Delhi in which Dr. K. Jacob Roy, Founder and National Chairman, Alzheimer's and Related Disorders Society of India will make a presentation on the subject Dementia. 3.
