The foundation in a way preserves the rural heritage of Westfälische Landschaft, which was originally founded by farmers. According to its statutes, the purpose of the foundation is to serve the wellbeing and the efficiency of the rural areas while promoting the general interests of agriculture and forestry to the benefit of society as a whole. A Domination and Profit-/Loss-Transfer Agreement exists between WGZ BANK and WL BANK. In December 2013 the equity capital waiver was reported towards the supervisory authority. 4
