2 The Singapore Police Co-operative Society Limited > > 2 Proposer s Incentive to be credited into Bank Account With effect from 1st January 2018, members who propose or recommend friends, family members or colleagues to join the Police Co-operative as members will receive $25 as an incentive to be credited into their bank for each successful referral. Prior to this change, the Co-operative gave members $25 worth of vouchers for each successful referral. An existing member simply needs to fill up the Proposer section on the second page of the Membership Application Form. New members must be working/serving in the following organisations: Ordinary Membership Employees (civilian staff included) from: Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA); Casino Regulatory Authority (CRA); AETOS & its groups of companies; Attorney-General s Chambers (AGC); Certis CISCO & its groups of companies; and Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB). Associate Membership Associate Membership is open to the following groups of people: NSmen with MHA; Teachers associated with National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC), members and former members of NPCC; Volunteer Special Constabulary (VSC) Officers; Existing members who have retired; and Ex-employees of MHA and its related organisations. Please note that the incentive monies will be credited into the proposer s bank account only upon full receipt of the new member s obligatory dues for his/her entrance fee, subscription savings and share capital. INTEREST RATE UPDATES FOR SPECIFIC DEPOSIT AND FIXED DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS The interest rate for the Specific Deposit account remains the same at 0.60% for the period 1 January 2018 to 31 March The interest rates for the Fixed Deposit account also remain the same as follows: Interest Rates (% p.a.) We would like to invite members who had retired during the period of 1 January 2016 to 31 December 2017 to join us on a 3 days/2 nights trip to Port Dickson & Melaka, Malaysia. The dates for the trip (by batches) have been confirmed as follows: 1ST TRIP : 6-8 JULY ND TRIP : JULY 2018 Members who qualify will receive an invitation letter from us by March Below are the details and itinerary of the trip. THE HIGHLIGHTS : Day 1 (Friday) : 6 July 2018 (Batch 1) & 20 July 2018 (Batch 2) SINGAPORE JOHOR BAHRU PORT DICKSON A welcoming kampong family breakfast awaits us at Kg Kampas with flavourful Nasi Lemak, Fried Mushroom, Fried Chicken and Tea. Besides breakfast, our tour guide will explain the various aspects of a mushroom plantation. Thereafter, it s a must to visit the Wansern Organic Farm at Yong Peng to experience the process of organic plantation farming. We will also be able to get close to the habitats of swiftlets and understand how bird nests are harvested. If time permits, a visit to the noodle factory will be added to the itinerary. The visit will allow members to gain a better understanding of how noodles are made. See for yourself how unleveled doughs are stretched, extruded or rolled into shapes before being cut into a variety of shapes based on demand. After touring the plantation, it will be time to fill our stomachs at lunch at Yong Peng s Ming Ann Restaurant. Freshen up and relax after checking in at Avillion beach resort located in Port Dickson before proceeding for a hearty BBQ buffet dinner by the beach. Free and easy activities around the resort will be the last event before resting for the day. Port Dickson INTRODUCTION : Port Dickson- also known as P.D, is a coastal town in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, with beautiful well-preserved beaches. This small town used to produce charcoal and is home to many army camps of the Malaysian Army. Its cultural and historical attractions are visited by many Singaporeans, including locals. Melaka is located in the southern region of the Malay Peninsula, next to the Straits of Melaka. It is about 2 to 2.5 hours drive from Port Dickson by coach. Melaka used to be a centre for the important spice trade due to its strategic location. Today, it is an industrial state with services, manufacturing, agricultural and entrepreneurship sectors contributing to the the economy. The main reason to visit the place is because it has a rich Peranakan heritage with many local restaurants serving delicious Nyonya cuisine.

Upon checking out from the resort, we will head down to Melaka for a heritage tour to gain an insight on its culture, lifestyle and history. Next, savour a sumptuous traditional Nyonya lunch in casual Peranakan ambience at Atlantic One Nyonya restaurant and complete the meal with a bowl of delicious traditional Gula-Melaka Iced Chendol. Shopping lovers will be able to fill up their bags at the one-stop destination centre, Mahkota Parade, a premier shopping centre Melaka which features a wide array of dining, fashion and entertainment offerings. After shopping, we will be transported to and checked into a cozy Peranakan concept boutique hotel Estadia to freshen up before heading to Jonker Street and the weekend night market for another round of free-and-easy shopping and dining. Experience the hustle and bustle on a street full of people on a Saturday night or enjoy free-and-easy activities in the vicinity of the hotel based on individual preferences. Day 3 (Sunday) : 8 July 2018 (Batch 1) & 22 July 2018 (Batch 2) MELAKA JOHOR BAHRU SINGAPORE After checking out from the hotel, we will proceed for local lunch at Restoran L.T.P in Tiara Melaka Golf Country Club. From there, we will be transported to Yong Peng to the Yoyo local products shop for some last minute shopping A variety of native food and beverage products are available for sale to satisfy your cravings. Get to sample their own creation egg yolk pineapple pastry that is comparable to Taiwan s products before purchasing. Thereafter, we will be transported back to Singapore and Home Sweet Home.

The Co-operative will credit a member s dividend payout to his/her bank account within fourteen (14) days after the AGM on 5 June Members must ensure that their bank accounts are still valid so as to facilitate the timely crediting of dividend monies. Members who have recently changed their account numbers but have yet to inform the Co-operative are requested to do so by filling up the Personal Data Change Request Form available through our website at and fax/ it back to us together with a copy of front and back of NRIC and a copy of their new bank book/statement. This is to allow the Co-operative to verify the particulars. In view of the upcoming 88 th Annual General Meeting (AGM), the Co-operative s office will be closed on 5 June Members may continue to carry out their transactions using the Co-operative s phone-banking system (Tel: ) on that day.
