15 Life Example Mom and Dad are the only shareholders in a very successful corporate farm. They both realize that they can t go on for ever, so they decide to investigate their options. Both parents are 55, and they have 2 children. Their son is interested in farming, however he is only 30 years old. The daughter is married with children and a very successful career half the country away.
16 Normal Issues? Son s wife loves farming Daughter doesn t want the farm sold and wants her brother to get it. Son has saved a large amount in hopes of buying the farm Daughter in law works off of farm and earns a great deal Son offers Market Value for all shares and borrows from the Credit Union so that Mom & Dad can retire somewhere warm!
17 Real Life Issues Son s wife hates farming Daughter doesn t want the farm, however feels like the forgotten child. Son has no savings and a manageable amount of debt Daughter in law figures she should be paid for making lunches. Son wants the land so he can make a living at farming, he s not sure how to go about getting involved more
