1 asea global reach is asea s official program for expansion and development in targeted international markets. This document is your guide to navigating the ins and outs of doing business with ASEA. It describes how associates can interact with customers via a range of touchpoints and classifies countries into a three-tiered system of market readiness TIER 1 major markets TIER 2 potential markets TIER 3 unsupported markets tier 1: major markets ASEA confirms these countries as a significant market opportunity. Doing business in these countries requires a formal expansion and opening strategy. These marketplaces also need dedicated corporate resources before opening for business, and ASEA drives all business development and expansion activities. Associates are not allowed to conduct any premarket business activity in these countries. Current Tier 1 Markets Brazil, China, Japan, Malaysia, Russia, South Korea Tier 2
2 tier 2: potential markets ASEA identifies these as potential business opportunities. These markets are eligible for the ASEA staged development program. Field leadership, actual sales, and product demand must exist in these countries. Tier 2 markets are classified into three groups that indicate development and signify readiness for pre-opening activities. Group 1 Announced, in development Group 2 Open to not-for-resale (NFR) activity, supported Group 3 Open to not-for-resale (NFR) activity, unsupported Positioned for eventual advancement to Group 2 tier 2 group 1 These markets have been announced by ASEA and have been selected to advance to prelaunch stage. The development work is being done. Current Tier 2 Group 1 Markets Hong Kong, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand Order Size Limits: Hong Kong: No limit. Singapore: Any order exceeding $400 SGD will be charged 7% import duty. Philippines: Limit 150 PV per order. Multiple orders to the same address on the same day will be detained in customs. All ASEA products are available in these markets and shipped out of our Hong Kong distribution warehouse with door-todoor delivery in Hong Kong, Philippines, and Singapore. Associates in Taiwan and Thailand must arrange for their own shipping from an open market. Personal consumption rules apply. Shipping cost: Country 1 Case Delivery Time Hong Kong $ business days Singapore $ Business days Philippines $ Business days Pricing and commissions will be in U.S. dollars. Commissions will be paid through SmartWallet. tier 2 group 2 In these markets, not for resale (NFR) activity is the only option for doing business. When NFR sales in a Tier 2 Group 2 market warrants advancement, ASEA will move that market to Group 1 status. Development of these markets follows the Global Stage Development program described below. Current Tier 2 Group 2 Markets Argentina, Colombia, Indonesia, Israel, Kazakhstan, Peru, Poland, Vietnam Tier 2 Group 2 Global Stage Development ASEA s Executive Committee must approve the decision to advance a market through the Global Stage Development program. Considerations for a market s promotion to the next stage of development include product interest, consistent retail sales growth, and feasibility of advancement. Tier 2 continued
3 Stage 1: Introduction As a developing market enters the first stage, ASEA provides the following support: Customers may purchase product from an open ASEA market and have it shipped to an address within that market. The shipment can then be forwarded to the customer in the developing market. Product pricing and sales commissions are paid in U.S. dollars via the SmartWallet cash card. Products are not for resale (NFR), meaning customers may only use the products for personal consumption. Associates have access to ASEAGlobalReach.com Associates are responsible for shipping product into the market. Requirements for Advancement to Stage 1 There must be significant interest for ASEA products or regular NFR product sales in the market. The market must maintain a $5,000 USD weekly sales average for a minimum of three consecutive months. A Diamond leader must sponsor business activity in the market. A Diamond leader must coordinate with the regional corporate sales executive to monitor business activity and assess interest levels in the market. Stage 2: Emerging When activity in a developing market increases, the country moves from Stage 1 to Stage 2 status. ASEA provides the following support: Tools and materials are provided in English with essential documents and materials translated into the local language. Local language customer service is provided via . Telephone support is provided in English with a local in-market phone number. Associates are responsible for shipping product into the market. Requirements for Advancement to Stage 2 Market growth, sustainability, and leadership determine stage advancement and are evaluated on a country-by-country basis. Stage 3: Pre-Launch Stage 3 is considered the official preview release of the ASEA business offering. Activities such as increased business operations and logistical procedures begin to be implemented to support the market. Requirements for Advancement to Stage 3 Once a market successfully advances through the first two stages and ASEA decides to open the market, that market moves to Stage 3. ASEA then begins preparations to open the market. Stage 4: Launch Stage 4 marks the official grand opening of business in the market. The timing of an opening is dependent upon the regulatory complexity of each market. tier 2 group 3 These markets are expected to eventually move to Group 2 status and become eligible for stage development. While associates may expand their businesses into these markets and conduct NFR activity, ASEA does not offer any support for Group 3 markets and does not guarantee a date by which a Group 3 market may advance to Group 2 status. Current Tier 2 Group 3 Markets Armenia, Bolivia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Central America and the Caribbean, Chile, Ecuador, Estonia, Iceland, Jordan, Latvia, Lithuania, Paraguay, South Africa, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay Tier 3
4 tier 3: unsupported markets Tier 3 includes any country not listed as a Tier 1 or Tier 2 market. Associates may conduct NFR business in these markets. However, corporate support is not available for any business activities, and ASEA cannot guarantee a date by which any given Tier 3 market will advance to Tier 2 Group 3 status and be listed as a possible market for future development. Associates choosing to do business in these countries are responsible for honoring all market-specific laws and for obtaining the necessary certifications and licenses for doing business.
