The E-mini 30-Minute Breakout system is an extremely powerful system for capturing high probability moves by allowing you to enter a trade early for a quick point and a trailing stop for additional profits. Hopefully, by now you have taken the time to watch the video if you haven t yet, please do so right away. This is a real system with real potential that I ve incorporated into my personal trading plan and we trade it LIVE inside one of our E-Mini trading rooms. 4 The 30 Minute Breakout Methodology Let me start off by saying that this is a very easy E-Mini trading strategy that has a very high percentage of winning trades. In fact it has an 80% probability that the market will give you at least one full point ($50/contract) before the market moves against you. This trading strategy has to do with the fact that the first 30 minutes of each trading day (9:30am ET to 10am ET) is a sucker s game meaning that the market is the least predictable in this first half hour of trading. So, what you want to do is step aside and simply wait for the first half hour to form its initial range. Yes, there may be volatility and some nice price movement in this first half hour, but in my over 22 years of trading experience the first half hour (9:30am ET to 10am ET) has always been the hardest in predicting price movement. So, what I always do is wait for the first half hour to be complete before looking to place a potential trade using this particular trading strategy. Let me quickly outline the rules for the 30 Minute Breakout Methodology below, then you will see six charts with a bunch of annotations with the method in play. You can also click the video on this page to watch me explain the trades on these same charts in a more detailed manner. The 30 Minute Breakout Methodology Rules: Trade Set-Up: Wait for the first 30 minutes to form 9:30am ET to 10:00am ET. Get the highest high of the first 30 minutes and the lowest low of the first 30 minutes of trading. Market Entry: BUY Entries: If the highest high of the first 30 minutes is penetrated first to the upside, go long (BUY). Never buy on.00 s or.50 s, but rather buy on.25 s and.75 s. Use BUY STOP orders to enter. SELL Entries: If the lowest low of the first 30 minutes is penetrated first to the downside, go short (SELL). Never sell on.00 s or.50 s, but rather sell on.75 s and.25 s. Use SELL STOP orders to enter. Initial Stop Loss (ISL): This of course is your catastrophic stop when the market doesn t do what we thought it would do once it breaks out either through the high or low of the first half hour (9:30am ET to 10am ET). We of course want to lose as little as possible BUY Entries ISL: Your Sell Stop order should be placed below the last pullback or retracement low right before the buy entry was executed. If a bearish outside vertical bar is created on the bar of entry, or the next price bar exit immediately with a loss. SELL Entries ISL: Your Buy Stop order should be placed above the last pullback or retracement high right before the sell entry was executed. If a bullish outside vertical bar is created on the bar of entry, or the next price bar exit immediately with a loss.

5 Profit Objective: The first profit objective is simply one full point ($50/contract in the ES). This has an 80% probability of being achieved on non new days 90% probability on days that do have news come out at 10am ET. Your second profit objective can be an automatic two full points in the ES. You can start using the trailing stop that I discuss on the video and what I describe briefly below once the one point profit objective is achieved, it s completely up to you. Trailing Stops: Once you hit the first profit objective (which is one full point) is when you want to move your trailing stop to start locking in more profits. This of course is optional. You may just want to take the trade off and be done for the day. Once again this is up to you. Trailing Stop on BUY Entries: Continuously move your stops (Sell Stops) up to below the prior bars low, but only once the prior bars high was first taken out. Trailing Stop on SELL Entries: Continuously move your stops (Buy Stops) down to above the prior bars high, but only once the prior bars low was first taken out.
