SEBI receives complaints from investors against stock brokers which include alleged unauthorized trading in their accounts. SEBI has taken steps in the past to address this issue. As an additional measure, the stock exchanges shall send details of the transactions to the investors, by the end of trading day, through SMS and alerts. These guidelines are applicable to equity - cash and derivative segments of the stock exchanges. Investment by Foreign Investors in Mutual Fund Schemes. Currently, only FIIs and sub-accounts registered with the SEBI and NRIs are allowed to invest in mutual fund schemes. To liberalise the portfolio investment route, it has been decided to permit SEBI registered Mutual Funds to accept subscriptions from foreign investors who meet the KYC requirements for equity schemes. This would enable Indian Mutual Funds to have direct access to foreign investors and widen the class of foreign investors in Indian equity market. In order to facilitate the above and in consultation with the Government and RBI, it has been decided that foreign investors (termed as Qualified Foreign Investors/ QFIs) who meet KYC requirement may invest in equity and debt schemes of Mutual Funds (MF). Infrastructure Finance Companies (IFCs) -- as eligible issuers for FIIs investment limit in debt instrument for infrastructure. SEBI has decided that Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) categorized as Infrastructure Finance Companies (IFCs) by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) shall also now be considered eligible issuers for the purposes of FII Investment under the corporate debt long term infra category. N S E N E W S NSE launched derivatives contracts on the Global Indices on Monday, 29th August, 211 The National Stock exchange has launched derivative contracts on the world's most followed equity indices, the S&P 5 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average from Monday, August 29th. This is the first time that derivative contracts on global indices are being launched in India. This is the also the first time in the world that futures contracts on the S&P 5 index are being introduced and listed on an exchange outside of their home country, USA. The new contracts will include futures on both the DJIA and the S&P 5, and options on the S&P 5. In order to encourage active participation in the above contracts, it has been decided that no transaction charges will be levied on the trades done in the contracts from the date of commencement till February 29, 212. I N T E R N A T I O N A L N E W S BM&FBOVESPA and CME Group: Multi-asset electronic trading platform BM&FBOVESPA and CME Group are jointly developing a multi-asset electronic trading platform. This shall substitute the Global Trading System (GTS), Mega Bolsa, BOVESPA FIX and SISBEX, integrating them into a single system with greater processing capacity, extremely low latency, and new functions. The implementation of the new platform, named the Puma Trading System (Puma), shall occur in stages Potential joint venture with Shanghai Stock Exchange and Shenzhen Stock Exchange The Board of Directors of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) is pleased to announce that HKEx has agreed in principle to enter into detailed discussions with the Shanghai Stock Exchange and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange with a view to establish a joint venture company to be incorporated in Hong Kong.
