3 Explanatory Note The Goldfield Corporation (the Company ) is filing this Amendment No. 1 on Form 8-K/A to its Current Report on Form 8-K dated October 25, 2017 (filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on October 25, 2017) solely for the purpose of including under Item 9.01 of Form 8-K and as Exhibit 99.1 to the Form 8-K the Company s revised press release regarding the date of its third quarter earnings conference call and webcast. Investors can access the financial results (including any information required by Regulation G) at The Company s President and Chief Executive Officer John H. Sottile and Chief Financial Officer Stephen R. Wherry will host a conference call and webcast to discuss results at 10 a.m. Eastern time on Wednesday, November 8 th.
