1 The University of North Carolina s Eligibility Based on SPA Employment ACTIVE EMPLOYEES Employment 1.a. Active Full-time (40 hours per, if die in active service while being paid salary following one year as contributing member.. Short-term benefit: Must have at least one year of contributing membership service earned within the 36 calendar months preceding disability. must be incurred at the time of active employment. Long Term benefit: Must have at least 5 years of contributing membership service earned within the 96 calendar months prior to the end of the short-, as long as member has at least 20 years of creditable service or reached age 60 with 5 years of membership service and either dies in active service or within 180 days after salary payments cease. (and receives 100% of employer contribution) NC Flex Leave* Other Eligible s Medical Leave: Must have 12 months of total service and been in pay status at least 1,040 hours during the previous 12 months. - s Long (MedAmerica) -Voluntary Supplemental (Liberty Mutual) -Voluntary 403(b), 401(k) and 457(b) plans Permanent: Probationary: No Trainee: Must have at least 6 months of service or held a permanent appointment prior to entering the trainee appointment. : No Employees who are reduced in force must be given at least 30 calendar days official written notice.
