3 FOREWORD 2 The very positive result for the 2017 financial year, despite a slightly lower volume of business than in 2016, has consolidated the BG Group's strategic, financial and commercial position. Our activity remained very strong despite the slowdown of some large projects, particularly in the building sector. We have continued our activities for a large number of repeat customers, whom we wish to thank for their ongoing confidence. Our Group has worked on highly diverse projects and missions in all our traditional fields of activity: Infrastructure, Building, Environment and Energy. We have also made progress in most of our cross-disciplinary services, including consulting, expertise, operations development and management, technical assistance to project owners and operations optimisation. New digital products have been put to excellent use for asset management and the optimisation of service quality, operations and energy. At the operational level, the management principles resulting from the BG+ project were validated in As a reminder, this project, launched in 2016, aims at improving the Group's internal management and sales efficiency. Under the project, the production units and processes were reorganised and customer relations were improved. We continued to invest in IT tools, with expanded use of BIM and the development of new digital products. At the same time, in 2017 we resumed our continuous training efforts for our employees in terms of management and software. On a strategic level, we implemented a new Group organisation, based on three Business Divisions (Infrastructure and Transport, Water and Environment, Building and Energy) and three Market Divisions (Switzerland, France and International). The Executive Board is now reinforced by the creation of a Sales Department and an Innovation Department. Thus, BG's strategic focus on consulting, services and expertise is supported by enhanced innovation and a customer-centric approach. Finally, the succession was prepared by appointing Pierre Epars to take over as CEO in April 2018, with Denis Pourlier-Cucherat becoming Vice-President of the Executive Board in charge of strategic projects. We want to express our sincere thanks to our employees for their commitment, to our shareholders for their support, to our banks and business partners, and above all, to our customers for their trust and loyalty. 6 Summary Annual Report REPORT OF THE INDEPENDENT AUDITOR ON THE CONSOLIDATED SUMMARY FINANCIAL STATEMENTS OF BG BONNARD & GARDEL HOLDING SA, LAUSANNE The consolidated summary financial statements on page 4 of this summary annual report, which comprise the consolidated summary balance sheet as of 30 September 2017 and the consolidated summary income statement for the year then ended are derived from the audited consolidated financial statements of BG Bonnard & Gardel Holding SA for the year ended 30 September We expressed an unmodified audit opinion on these consolidated financial statements in our report dated 22 February The consolidated financial statements, as well as the consolidated summary financial statements does not reflect the impact of facts occurred after the date of our report on the consolidated financial statements. The consolidated summary financial statements do not contain all the disclosures required by Swiss law and the principle of consolidation and valuation described in the consolidated financial statements. Therefore, reading the consolidated summary financial statements is not a substitute for reading the audited financial statements of BG Bonnard & Gardel Holding SA as a whole. MANAGEMENT S RESPONSIBILITY The Management is responsible for the preparation of the consolidated summary financial statements in accordance with Swiss law and with the consolidation and valuation principles described in the notes to the consolidated financial statements. AUDITOR S RESPONSIBILITY Our responsibility is to express an opinion on the consolidated summary financial statements based on our procedures, which were conducted in accordance with Swiss Auditing Standard (SAS) 810, Engagements to Report on Summary Financial Statements. OPINION In our opinion, the consolidated summary financial statements derived from the consolidated audited financial statements of BG Bonnard & Gardel Holding SA for the year ended 30 September 2017 are consistent, in all material respects, with these consolidated financial statements, in accordance with Swiss law.
