2 FOREWORD This publication contains important information concerning the bills passed by the Hawaii State Legislature during the Regular Session of 2017, which adjourned sine die on May 4, This publication supplements the publication entitled "Bills Passed by the Hawaii State Legislature, Regular Session of 2017," which was issued by the LRB Systems Office in early May 2017 and contains a brief description of each bill passed during the 2017 session. This report consists of the following resources: (1) A preliminary index that contains a topical listing of the bills passed in 2017 under broad and general subject matter categories; (2) A table of "Laws Affected by Bills Passed" that shows sections of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, Session Laws of Hawaii, and the proposed constitutional amendments that are affected by bills passed by the Legislature during the Regular Session of It also includes a listing of new chapters of the Hawaii Revised Statutes. This table reflects information from the final draft of every bill passed by the Legislature in 2017; (3) A table of "Status of Bills Passed by the Legislature" that provides a listing of bills passed and includes the Act number, approval date, if any, and the appropriate committee report numbers; and (4) A table of H.B. No. 100, C.D. 1, General Appropriations Act of 2017, 1 furnished courtesy of the Tax Foundation of Hawaii, that shows the total program appropriations for fiscal years and The foregoing information includes act numbers and approval dates for bills signed into law or vetoed by the Governor as of May 22, Information regarding any bills approved by the Governor after May 22, 2017, may be obtained through the Legislature's website at The Governor has until July 11, 2017, to consider bills for approval. 2 The "Supplemental Information" publication for prior years is available through the LRB Library website, at Click on "Session Reports" under the "quick links" on the left-hand side of the screen to get to the "Legislative Reference Bureau Systems Office Session" reports page. 3 Look for the heading "Supplemental Information Relating to Bills Passed" and click on the particular session year desired. 1.
