2 To help you prepare for life after work, Paradies Lagardère has taken the first step toward helping you save for retirement by offering you the 401(k) Savings Plan. Step One: Get to know the Plan Your Contributions The plan allows you to save for retirement by contributing a portion of your pay check, on a pre and/or Roth(post-tax) basis, up to the legal limit, into an account set up especially for you. Additionally, you can rollover eligible savings from a previous employer into your 401(k) account. Company Contributions Paradies Lagardère provides a discretionary employer matching contributions equal to 50% of your contributions up to a maximum of 6% of your pay. This match is deposited into your 401(k) account each pay period along with your contributions. The 401(k) plan also permits the Company to make a discretionary profit sharing contribution. Vesting Schedule Vesting means you own the contributions and any earnings associated with those contributions. You are always 100% vested in your own contributions made to your 401(k) account, as well as any earnings on them. Employer matching contributions as well as Employer profit sharing contributions, if any, will vest according to the following schedule: Years of Service % Vested 1 25% 2 50% 3 100% Investment Flexibility Participants have the option to self-direct contributions into a range of diversified investment options or default to a pre-determined Target Date fund based on current age and anticipated year of retirement. Loans Although your 401(k) plan account is intended for the future, you may borrow from your account. Withdrawals Withdrawals from the Plan are generally not permitted unless you attain age 59½, terminate your employment, retire, become permanently disabled, or have severe financial hardship as defined by the Plan. 2
3 Step Two: Enroll in the Plan From your original date of hire, you are eligible to participate in the 401(k) plan when you have completed 90 days of service. Your entry date will be the first of the month following that date. You can enroll in the 401(k) plan two ways: Online at Enrollment form (see page 7) Online Enrollment If you are enrolling for the first time, your initial login information is as follows: Default username: Social Security Number (no dashes) Default password: Date of Birth (MMDDYY) Upon initial login, you will be asked to create a new username and password for security purposes. Designate your beneficiary It is important to choose a beneficiary for your 401(k) Plan and keep this information up to date. It will ensure that your retirement account is passed on according to your wishes. Remember to complete the Beneficiary Form. This can be done online or by completing the enrollment form located at the end of this guide. 4 Step Three: Decide how to contribute Pre-tax and/or Roth Contributions The IRS allows you to contribute up to $18,000 of eligible pay in 2017 on a pre-tax or Roth (post-tax) basis. Pre-Tax Contributions Allows for a reduction in taxable income by the amount you contribute on a pretax basis. Contributions and earnings are taxed at time of distributions. Roth Contributions - A Roth contribution to your 401(k) plan account allows you to make after-tax contributions and take any associated earnings completely tax-free at retirement, as long as the distribution is a qualified one. A qualified distribution, in this case, is one that is taken at least five tax years after your first Roth 401(k) contribution and after you have attained age 59½, or become disabled, or upon death. Catch-up Contributions If you reach the plan s annual contribution limit and are age 50 or older during the calendar year, you can make additional Pre-tax or Roth catch-up contributions up to the IRS limit. The limit in 2017 is $6,000. Employer Matching Contributions This is the best part. If you participate in the 401(k) Savings Plan, the Company currently matches $0.50 for every dollar you contribute up to a maximum of 6% of your pay. This match is deposited into your 401(k) account each pay period along with your contributions. Here s an example: 401(k) Plan My bi-weekly pay $692 My contribution of 6% of pay $42 Paradies Lagardere match $21 4
5 Step Four: Decide how much to contribute To take full advantage of the Company match, a contribution of 6% is recommended. However, you may contribute a minimum of 1% of your pay, and even a small amount can grow significantly over time. Get started today Your decision to start now could help you accumulate more at retirement. And look at the difference you can make in your total potential account value by putting away just a few dollars more of your pay. Time is on your side and every day is an opportunity to save for your retirement. Putting off saving now may cost you down the road. Take James and Fiona for example. Both began their careers at 21 at the same time. James starts contributing to the 401(k) Plan immediately. Fiona waits until she is 40 to start contributing. Note: Even though James stops contributing after 15 years, because he started earlier in his career he accumulates more savings for retirement. The indicated contribution rate remains constant throughout the periods shown. Your account increases at the hypothetical annual rate of return of 7% compounded annually. You make neither withdrawals nor loans. All earnings are reinvested. Cost of living increases using a hypothetical inflation rate of 3% annually 5
6 Step Five: Select your investments The Plan offers you a range of options to help you meet your investment goals. You can select a mix of investment options that best suits your goals, time horizon, and risk tolerance. Complete descriptions of the Plan s investment options and their performance are available online at Do-it-yourself - you can make your own investment decisions and build your own portfolio. Choose from multiple fund options across a broad array of categories. Less Risk Conservative Stable Value Moderately Aggressive Bond Moderately Conservative Domestic Equity Aggressive International Very Aggressive Specialty More Risk Do-it-for-me - you can have it done for you. You can have your investment decision made for you by selecting one of the Vanguard Target Retirement Funds Investor Shares. These funds are also the default funds if you have not made a specific investment election for your 401(k) account. The Vanguard Target Retirement Funds Investor Shares are designed for investors expecting to retire around the year indicated in each fund's name. The funds are managed to gradually become more conservative over time as they approach the target date. The investment risk of each Vanguard Target Retirement Fund Investor Shares changes over time as the fund's asset allocation changes. Use the table below to determine which Vanguard Target Retirement Fund Investor Shares is appropriate for you.
