2 Forward It is our intention to provide you with the highest possible level of service when dealing with Campbell & McConnachie and is important to us that this service meets with your expectations both now and in the future. We have created this document setting out the services that we provide, to enable you to select the level of service which best meets with your requirements. Campbell & McConnachie have now been providing quality Independent Financial Advice in the Moray area for over 25 years. Three experienced financial administrators support our Paraplanning Team who, with four qualified advisors, provide our clients with a full advice service, to meet their personal investment, Pension, Protection and Mortgage requirements. Campbell & McConnachie employ an in-house para-planning team who supply the dedicated research, support and in-depth knowledge required by our clients. Financial Services being an increasingly complex area for most people to get to grips with, we consider it important that you receive an individually tailored and comprehensive plan, to meet your personal goals now and into the future. Any advice or recommendation that we offer, will only be given after we have fully assessed your needs and considered your personal financial objectives and attitude to any risks which may be involved. We will also take into account any restrictions that you may wish to place on the type of products you are willing to consider. Our service also includes providing comprehensive and independent mortgage solutions, by accessing products from the full range of UK based lenders. Prior to doing so, we will supply you with separate Disclosure Documents and explain the services we offer and the costs of those services. The basis on which we will offer advice and/or services with regards to investments, retirement planning, savings and protection policies can be broadly described as:- 1. Full Financial Review 2. Transactional Based a) No Advice execution only b) Limited or Restricted Advice

4 1 Full Financial Review Where a financial review is to be undertaken, please refer to the following Advice Process section which summarises the steps that we will undertake. Advice Process We aim to provide all of our clients with clear financial direction. This is achieved by having a full understanding of your current financial position, your objectives and identified needs. This in turn enables us to suggest suitable solutions for you, in order that you are treated fairly. Our aim is to minimise future barriers to these objectives and to maximise the opportunities for achieving your goals. We do this by following the process detailed overleaf. Step 1 - Engagement Identify your needs and objectives. We will arrange an introductory meeting to fully explain how our service works, identify your primary financial needs and objectives, and answer any questions you may have. Step 2 Discovery Gather information If you now feel you can benefit from our service, your Adviser will work with you to fully understand your objectives and develop these into well defined goals. Your Adviser will gather all relevant financial information in order to provide a comprehensive picture of your circumstances. Step 3 - Research & analysis Prepare an analysis of your situation Once your objectives are agreed, we will work with you to complete a review of your current circumstances and consider the recommendations to be made. We will provide an analysis of your current financial position and identify any areas to develop and act upon. Step 4 - Plan presentation Develop an action plan Once we ve made recommendations, we ll take you through them stage by stage. The specific and realistic proposals will be designed to achieve your stated objectives over an agreed period of time.

5 Step 5 Implementation Plan implementation It s now time to put the plan into action. You can relax in the knowledge that we will take care of all the necessary arrangements required to bring your plan to fruition. Step 6 - Ongoing service & relationship Monitoring your progress Where an ongoing service is agreed, your Adviser will review your financial position and make sure it is still in line with your objectives. Reviews will take account of any changes to your personal circumstances, financial market conditions and current legislation. Your Responsibility It is important that you provide us with the information that we request, in order for us to deliver the quality advice and services you want. We therefore ask that clients do not unreasonably withhold relevant information. Please note that any advice we provide to you will be based on the information you provide to us. Under our regulators rules, we are required to consider whether it is in your best interests for us to act for you, should you refuse to provide us with, what we believe to be, the necessary information. We therefore reserve the right to decline to act for you if we believe we have not been provided with the requisite information. 2 Transactional Based Please note that for transactional based service, we are able to provide you with this service only. Any products we arranged for you, will not be kept under review in future. We will however provide further services to you should you request them, but they may be subject to a new service agreed with you at that time. a) No Advice execution only Within our transactional service, we may offer to merely arrange a transaction at your specific request. We would consider this as execution only and in these cases we will not provide any advice on the suitability of the product in relation to your specific circumstances. You will be required to make this decision yourself, before you ask us to arrange it on your behalf. If we act for you on an execution only basis, you will be provided with the relevant illustrations, product brochures and application forms, but we will not comment on the product or its suitability for you.

6 No review of your individual circumstances will take place to assess the suitability of the product you have chosen. In such cases, you may not have the right to refer any future complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service regarding the sale of the product. This is because no recommendation will have been made by us. You will be asked to put you explicit instructions in writing. You should therefore ensure that you have sufficient knowledge and experience to make this decision for yourself. If you have any doubts about your selection, you may be better suited to receiving advice on this occasion. Please refer to the other services that are available. b) Limited or Restricted Advice If you instruct us that you wish to limit the advice we give you in any way for example: you wish to limit our advice to retirement planning, we will consider this to be limited or restricted advice. In this case, we will follow our standard advice process - but only in relation to the areas on which you have requested advice. You should be aware that if you limit the information you provide to us in any way, it may detract from the completeness of the advice we are able to give you. This is because any information not disclosed, could affect the appropriateness of the advice provided. If you place any limitation on our advice, we will confirm this fact to you during our discussions and in our subsequent suitability report. Anti Money Laundering As we are required by Anti Money Laundering legislation to know who we are dealing with, it would be helpful if you could bring to the meeting evidence of your identity and address. This would normally include either your passport or driving licence and a recent utility bill in your name. These should be original documents and not copies. If these documents are not available please speak to the adviser who will confirm what alternatives would be acceptable.

7 Services we provide and the costs No Ongoing Service Nil Entry level Service Our Entry level service is designed to offer clients, who have a basic need for a particular one-off transaction, such as arranging simple investment products, life assurance, critical illness cover and income protection plans. This service will also be provided to those clients who do not want to agree to a more active service. Our Entry Level Service includes the following: Clients receiving our Entry Level service will have full access to our administration service, which is in place to assist with general queries. The administrator hourly fee rate can be applied and agreed at outset if there is additional work involved. This service will also allow the client, where necessary, to have a contact point for communication between them and the Product Provider. This service is available during the initial application process and for the lifetime of the product transacted as long as Campbell & McConnachie are the controlling adviser. All clients will have access to our Financial Advisers on request. This service provides a contact for the client to address any issues that cannot be resolved by our administration team. Where a client requests a financial review, we will ensure that the client s request is promptly dealt with, and that the Financial Adviser will discuss our remuneration structure prior to the client making any financial commitment. During our advice process we will consider the use of external services such as Discretionary Investment Management, access to SIPP and Wrap products, on an individual basis. The criteria for a client to benefit from our Entry Level Service are as follows: Investment and Savings Clients will normally have agreed to remunerate the firm by up to 1% (annually) of the funds invested via Campbell & McConnachie -the actual percentage being agreed at the outset. Any additional work may be charged at an hourly rate or project fee, depending on the complexity. This cost to be agreed before work commencing. The Advisory Fee for organising an investment, is typically between 4% and 2% of the funds invested, and depends on the level of work involved in arranging, providing the advice and the amount of funds invested. The Advisory fee can be deducted from the funds invested or alternatively paid separately. Clients who transact Non-Investment Products such as Life Assurance, Private Medical Insurance, Critical Illness cover or an Annuity via Campbell & McConnachie, may be charged at an hourly rate for additional work.

8 Wealth Service The Wealth Service offers a more active proposition to our clients. It is designed to provide a level of support which is more proactive than our Entry Level facility. This will allow Campbell & McConnachie to offer an ongoing review service. This could include a review of the clients investment planning, pension arrangements and/or protection needs. This level of service will give the client an opportunity to pull together the various strands of their financial planning arrangements with the support of Campbell & McConnachie s Advisers. The following is an overview of the services offered as part of the Wealth Service: Each client will be allocated to an adviser who will be a contact point should the client wish to discuss their financial planning arrangements. The client will be proactively offered an annual review to discuss their financial planning arrangements. As part of the annual review the client will receive an up to date valuation and meet with an adviser- although the client can choose whether they consider this is necessary. The client will be invited to seminars that the adviser considers to be relevant to the client. The client can request an up to date valuation of their investments at any time. We will communicate on an ad-hoc basis with the client when we become aware of a product, issue or service, which would be of interest to the client. The entry criteria for a client to benefit from our Wealth Service are as follows: Investment and Savings Clients will have agreed to remunerate the firm by up to 1% of the funds invested via Campbell & McConnachie, subject to a minimum fee of 300 being received. Clients that have transacted Non-Investment Products such as Life Assurance, Private Medical Insurance, Critical Illness cover or an Annuity via FIRM can access this service by agreeing a fee of 300 per annum as a minimum.

9 The cost of our services Our charges relating to new work e.g. client take-on, new investments and one-off reviews are as follows; Initial Service Financial review with a view to you becoming an ongoing client i.e. subscribing to an ongoing service. Financial Planning Report (one-off) One-off transactional advice i.e. where you are not subscribing to an ongoing service. Initial Charges 3% of any monies to be invested subject to a minimum charge of 300. For example, if you were to invest 50,000 our charge would be 1,500. The actual costs will be dependant upon the work involved and will be explained to you. Minimum charge of 500 (non-complex report). A typical charge for a more complex report such as a pension transfer review would be approximately 750. The actual costs will be dependant upon the works involved and will be explained to you. 3% of any monies to be invested subject to a minimum charge of 300. For example, if you were to invest 50,000 our charge would be 1,500. The actual costs will be dependant upon the work involved and will be explained to you. (a) Hourly Rate In certain circumstances we may charge an hourly rate. We will agree the rate we will charge before beginning work. We will tell you if you have to pay VAT. Our typical charges are: Chartered Financial Planner 180 Per hour Pension Specialist (AFS G60 Qualified) 180 Per hour Qualified Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) 150 Per hour Mortgage Adviser 120 Per hour Paraplanner 120 Per hour Administration 80 Per hour Trail/renewal commissions In certain limited circumstances we may be paid trail commission in addition to our fee e.g. in relation to non-investment pure protection contracts. If this is the case we will disclose the amount and frequency in writing at the point of recommendation. By signing this agreement, you are confirming your agreement to our receiving this trail commission.

10 Initial commissions Any commission that would otherwise become payable for policies arranged on your behalf will be: a. Rebated to you in the form of enhanced benefits b. Used to reduce your regular premiums c. Offset against our fees as appropriate In the event of policy cancellations and where the policy provider has sought repayment of commissions previously paid by them we reserve the right to charge a reasonable fee to cover the cost of repaying such commissions. Any additional charges associated with our recommendations will be detailed to you separately. New Clients being introduced to the service No charge for the initial meeting and initial information gathering A fixed fee for more in-depth information gathering, conducting research and the preparation of your outline plan. This fee will depend on the extent of work required, the length and complexity of that work, and be subject to an agreed minimum. The fixed fee may be absorbed into the next stage. For product selection and implementation, we would then typically charge an Advisory Fee, based on a percentage of the amount invested - as above.
