1 Boyertown Area School District Gray Area Proposal February 24, 2009 Presented by: Robert Scoboria Assistant Superintendent for Student and Administrative Services Gray Areas are defined attendance areas: Which allow Boyertown Area School District Administration to assign newly enrolling students to one of two elementary schools Newly enrolling students are defined as students who are enrolling in Boyertown Area School District in grades K 6 and do not have siblings (who reside in the same household) that are already placed in a Boyertown Area School District elementary school Placement decisions for new students in the gray areas are made each July for the upcoming school year and are made to ensure appropriate resources are in place to meet the needs of all students If approved, this proposal would go into effect in July 2009 and remain in effect until revised by the Board of School Directors A presentation of this proposal was made at the February 10, 2009, meeting of the Board of School Directors and was made available on the Boyertown Area School District website since February 11, 2009 This proposal identifies nine gray areas as defined by the following street parameters and/or the shaded area on the district map Gray Area Proposal was approved by the BASD Board of School Directors on February 24, 2009
