N/A 44 FUND DESCRIPTION The First Trust Developed Markets Ex-U.S. AlphaDex ETF tracks an index of international, developed-market stocks, selected by growth and value factors and equal-weighted in tiers. FACTSET ANALYTICS INSIGHT employs a rather involved strategy in an attempt to deliver market-beating performance. It focuses on the ex-us space and scores each security twice, by both growth and value characteristics, assigning whatever score is highest as the stock's style score. It then takes the top 300 stocks and breaks them into quintiles, giving higher-scoring quintiles greater weight in the index. The fund does set constraints on geographic weighting, to prevent the portfolio from skewing too far afield in terms of country exposure. is reconstituted semi-annually.as you might expect, major sector bets abound, while geographic tilts can be significant if not quite as dramatic. The fund has a midcap tilt and a much lower average market cap than our benchmark, despite ignoring small- and micro-caps.
