1 November 2017 Re: Changes in the Baylor College of Medicine Retirement Plans Dear Baylor College of Medicine Retirement Plan Participant: Baylor College of Medicine is committed to providing employees with the opportunity to save for their future retirement through the Baylor College of Medicine Retirement Plans. To help you meet your retirement goals, the BCM Benefits Administrative Committee regularly reviews and sometimes makes changes to the Plans. As a result of a recent review, effective Jan. 2, 2018, Baylor College of Medicine has elected to make changes to the Plans. Investment Line-Up Changes On Jan. 2, 2018, the State Street Target Retirement Funds Class K will replace the Fidelity Freedom Funds Class K. Each State Street Target Retirement Fund Class K seeks to achieve its objective by investing in a set of underlying State Street funds representing various asset classes. Each Fund (other than the State Street Target Retirement Fund Class K) is managed to a specific retirement year (target date) included in its name. The State Street Target Retirement Funds seek an investment return that approximates, as closely as practicable, before expenses, the performance of a custom benchmark index over the long term. The State Street Retirement Date Funds Class K will also replace the Fidelity Freedom Funds Class K as the Plan Designated default investment option for Baylor College of Medicine. Please see the Qualified Default Investment Alternative Notice for additional information. In addition, three investment options will move to lower-cost share classes. Expense Changes Currently, a portion of the Plan s administrative fees are paid through offsets attributable to the Fidelity Freedom Funds Class K and certain other actively managed funds in the Plans investment lineup. Consequently, a separate administrative fee was not charged to participants. Due to the replacement of the Fidelity Freedom Funds Class K with the lower-cost State Street funds, and no offsets attributable to these funds, effective Jan. 2, 2018, an administrative fee of $8.50 per quarter per Plan ($34 per year, per Plan) will be charged to each participant with a balance in each Plan with Fidelity. The initial $8.50 fee will appear on the April 2018 statement. This fee is subject to change.

3 Participant Fee Due to the replacement of the Fidelity Freedom Funds Class K with the lower-cost State Street funds and no offsets attributable to these funds, effective Jan. 2, 2018, an administrative fee of $8.50 per quarter per Plan ($34 per year, per Plan) will be charged to each participant with a balance in each Plan with Fidelity. The quarterly participant fee of $8.50 pays for a portion of the plan administration costs. This fee will be deducted from your plan account on the last business day of each quarter and will appear on your quarterly statement under fees. Plan administrative expenses may include legal, accounting, trustee, recordkeeping, and other administrative fees and expenses associated with maintaining the Plan. The $8.50 fee is a flat amount and is applied only once per quarter per plan regardless of the number of funds in which you are invested. This fee is subject to change.
