For further details of the scheme/mutual Fund, due diligence certificate by the AMC, Key Personnel, investors rights & services, risk factors, penalties & pending litigations etc. investors should, before investment, refer to the Scheme Information Document and Statement of Additional Information available free of cost at any of the Investor Service Centres or distributors or from the website The Scheme particulars have been prepared in accordance with Securities and Exchange Board of India (Mutual Funds) Regulations 1996, as amended till date, and filed with Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). The units being offered for public subscription have not been approved or disapproved by SEBI, nor has SEBI certified the accuracy or adequacy of this KIM. This KIM is dated April 30, 2012 As required, a copy of this Scheme formation Document of Reliance Banking Exchange Traded Fund and Reliance Gold Exchange Traded Fund has been submitted to National Stock Exchange of India Limited (hereinafter referred to as NSE). NSE has given vide its letter NSE/LIST/52217-U dated June 26, 2008 and NSE/LIST/52218-N dated July 31, 2007 respectively permission to the Mutual Fund to use the Exchange's name in this Scheme Information Document as one of the stock exchanges on which the Mutual Fund's units are proposed to be listed subject to, the Mutual Fund fulfilling the various criteria for listing. The Exchange has scrutinized this Scheme Information Document for its limited internal purpose of deciding on the matter of granting the aforesaid permission to the Mutual Fund. It is to be distinctly understood that the aforesaid permission given by NSE should not in any way be deemed or construed that the Scheme Information Document has been cleared or approved by NSE; nor does it in any manner warrant, certify or endorse the correctness or completeness of any of the contents of this Scheme Information Document; nor does it warrant that the Mutual Fund's units will be listed or will continue to be listed on the Exchange; nor does it take any responsibility for the financial or other soundness of the Mutual Fund, its sponsors, its management or any scheme of the Mutual Fund. However, the performance of Scheme may differ from that of the underlying index due to tracking error. There can be no assurance or guarantee that the investment objective of scheme will be achieved. Securities covered by the CNX Bank Index %;Money Market instruments including CBLO- 0-10% Reliance Banking Exchange Traded Fund endeavors to track and generate returns similar to its benchmark CNX Bank Index by investing in its index constituents and money market instruments. The fund follows a passive strategy of management with endeavor to generate similar returns to its benchmark. Rs.11 Crs At Reliance Mutual Fund, to ensure robust risk management and adequate risk management, Investment and Valuation policies for various schemes have been framed. The policy specifies various investment restrictions and the procedures for monitoring. All investment restrictions are monitored as required by the guidelines. Various committees have been created to ensure ongoing monitoring and risk mitigation. The AMC uses a passive or indexing approach to try and achieve Scheme s investment objective. Unlike other Fund, the Scheme does not try to beat the markets they track and do not seek temporary defensive positions when markets decline or appear over valued. The AMC does not make any judgments about the investment merit of a particular stock or a particular industry segment nor will it attempt to apply any economic, financial or market analysis. Indexing eliminates active management risks in regard to over / underperformance vis-à-vis a benchmark Reliance Gold Exchange Traded Fund (RGETF) An open ended Gold Exchange Traded Fund that tracks the domestic prices of gold through investments in physical gold. The investment objective is to seek to provide returns that closely correspond to returns provided by price of Gold through investment in physical Gold (*and Gold related securities as permitted by Regulators from time to time). However, the performance of the scheme may differ from that of the domestic prices of Gold due to expenses and or other related factors. Howerver there can be assurance that the investment objective of the scheme will be achieved. Physical Gold or Gold related Instruments as permitted by regulators from time to time %, Money Market Instrument Bonds, Debentures, Government Securities including T-Bills, Securitised Debt** & other debt securities as permitted by regulators from time to time-0-10%(**upto 10% in securitised debt) Reliance Gold Exchange Traded Fund endeavors to track and provide similar returns to its benchmark- the domestic prices of gold through investment in physical gold and money market instruments. The fund follows a passive investment strategy and endeavors to generate returns similar to its benchmark. The fund is benchmarked to physical price of gold Rs.2651 Crs. Authorised Participants and Large Investors may buy the units on any business day for the scheme directly from the Mutual Fund at applicable NAV and transaction charges, if applicable, by transfering stocks or cash, value of which is equal to creation unit size. Each creation unit consist of 10,000 units and cash component, if any, of Reliance Banking Exchange Traded Fund. others can buy the units in multiples of one from the exchange where they are traded. The scheme invests in physical gold (bullion) and the risks associated with the bullion are applicable. Due care and controls have been estbalished that are genereally followed for protecting the Gold bullion. The fund manager would use a 'passive' approach to try and achieve the investment objective of the scheme. The fund manager shall not try to ''beat'' the Gold Market, but aims to replicate the returns, which commensurate the returns generated, by Gold during that period. It will however endeavor to seek temporary defensive positions when markets decline or appear over valued to the extent of its investment in Money Market or other debt securities On going purcahses directly from the Mutual Fund would be restricted to Authorised Participants provided the value of units to be purchased is in creation unit size. Authorised Investors may buy the units on any business day for the scheme directly from the Mutual Fund at applicable NAV and transaction charges, if applicable,by depositing Gold or cash, value of which is equal to creation unit size. (ii) Recurring Expenses As per SEBI (Mutual Funds) (Amendment) Regulations, 2010, in case of an Exchange Traded Fund, the total expenses of the scheme including the investment and advisory fees shall not exceed one and one half percent (1.5%) of the weekly average net assets. Amount payable towards the redemption will be calculated based on the NAV as on the day of redemption subject to cut-off timings and the applicable NAV declared by the AMC. Applicable NAV for Purchase/Creation/Redemption of Units directly From the Fund Authorised Participants The Authorised Participants can directly buy/sell the units from the Fund in Creation Unit Size on all working days as follows: The Fund creates / redeems RGETF in large blocks known as Creation Unit. The value of the Creation Unit is the basket of Underlying Gold called as the Portfolio Deposit and a Cash Component which will be exchanged for a fixed number of RGETF. The Portfolio Deposit and Cash Component may change from time to time and will be announced by AMC/Fund through its website and other data providers. i) Creation In respect of valid applications received upto 3 p.m. by the Mutual Fund alongwith a local cheque or a demand draft payable at par at the place where the application is received, the closing NAV of the day on which application is received shall be applicable. In respect of valid applications received after 3 p.m. by the Mutual Fund alongwith a local cheque or a demand draft payable at par at the place where the application is received, the closing NAV of the next business day shall be applicable. ii) Redemptions In respect of valid applications received upto 3 p.m. by the Mutual Fund, closing NAV of the day of receipt of application, shall be applicable. In respect of valid applications received after 3 p.m. by the Mutual Fund, the closing NAV of the next business day shall be applicable. Applications for redemption of RGETF units have to be submitted in the prescribed format duly completed and signed along with the delivery order duly receipted by the DP stating the number of units transferred to the scheme s DP account. Application for redemption by non-individuals should be accompanied by certified copy of the board/ governing body resolution clearly authorizing the official concerned to redeem units and to receive/ collect gold/cash after complying with operational procedure and formalities. The application for redemption in the prescribed form will have to be submitted at the designated ISC of the fund before the cut off time. The expenses associated with taking physical delivery of gold will have to be borne by the authorized participant / investor. *Since Inception from 22nd Nov.07 Returns for less than one year are absolute returns. Returns of and more than one year are compounded annualized returns. Calculations assume that all payouts during the period have been reinvested in the units of the scheme at the then prevailing NAV. Despatch of Repurchase (Redemption) Request : Within 10 working days of the receipt of the redemption request at the authorised centre of Reliance Mutual Fund. Dividend Policy : Dividend will be distributed from the available distributable surplus after the deduction of the dividend distribution tax and the applicable surcharge, if any. The Mutual Fund is not guaranteeing or assuring any dividend. Please read the Scheme Information Document for details.
