Reference is made to the announcement of the Company dated 2 nd November 2012 (the Announcement ) as regards the Underwriting Agreement for the Issue of Short-Term Financing Notes by CITIC Dameng Mining Industries Co., Limited ( ) ( CITIC Dameng Mining ). Unless stated otherwise, terms defined in the Announcement shall apply herein. The Board is pleased to announce that CITIC Dameng Mining expects to issue the first tranche of the Notes with an aggregate amount of not exceeding RMB200,000,000 (equivalent to HK$249,600,000). Pursuant to the Rules on Disclosure for Debt Financing Instruments of Nonfinancial Enterprises in the Inter-bank Bond Market ( ) promulgated by the National Association of Financial Market Institution Investors of the PRC (!"#$% ), the unaudited financial statements of CITIC Dameng Mining for the nine months ended 30 September 2012 have been published on the websites of Shanghai Clearing House (&'()*) at and China +,!" - Foreign Exchange Trade System ( ) at The unaudited financial statements of CITIC Dameng Mining for the nine months ended 30 September 2012 were prepared in accordance with the PRC Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and are enclosed for information purpose only. The Board wishes to remind investors and shareholders of the Company that the unaudited results of CITIC Dameng Mining for the nine months ended 30 September 2012 contained in this

2 announcement were prepared based on the unaudited management accounts which have not been reviewed or audited by the Company s auditors. These financial statements are only those of CITIC Dameng Mining, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Group and do not give a complete view of the operational and financial status of the Group.
