2 SCREEN PRINTING ORDERING INFORMATION All orders will be processed in the order they are received. In most cases, orders received before 12:00pm CST will be processed the same day. Orders received after 12:00pm CST may not be processed until the next business day. All orders will receive an ed confirmation that includes a.pdf proof and invoice. Production will not begin until proof approval and payment are received. Orders are typically paid online through a payment portal sent via . Payment can also be made by phone. Actual production time starts on the day that approval and payment are confirmed. Delays in order confirmation will result in added prodution time. A cancellation fee will apply to any order that is cancelled after approval and confirmation are received. Fee will be based on how far into production the order is. All Items over 24" x 36" are shipped by motor freight. Specify residential or commercial shipping address. Residential may not be available in all areas. 3 Screen Printing Terminology Vector Vector graphics are not made up of a grid of pixels. Instead, vector graphics are comprised of paths, which are defined by a start and end point, along with other points, curves, and angles along the way. Vector graphics can be scaled to any size without loss of quality or resolution. Raster Raster graphics are a dot matrix data structure, representing a generally rectangular grid of pixels. Raster graphics can lose quality and resolution when scaled. Vector Raster Trap Trapping involves creating overlaps (spreads) or underlaps (chokes) of objects during the print production process to eliminate the appearance of misregistration on the press. Typically the lighter color is printed first, with the darker color on top to prevent white spaces around the image(s). The orange area depicts the trap of the yellow to the red. Screen Stretch Screens stretch according to how tight the mesh is attached to the frame or how much pressure is required on the squeegee to achieve a quality print. Different screens will have slightly different stretch to them and can cause misalignment of graphics. Graphics should allow for stretch or may appear off registration when printed. Halftone Halftone is the reprographic technique that simulates continuous tone imagery through the use of dots, varying either in size or in spacing, thus generating a gradient-like effect. Halftones can be printed as one color or layered to produce different effects. Halftone pattern to simulate gradient effect. Line Thickness/Small Text Lines thinner than 1/8 may not print well. Text smaller than 1/4 tall may appear blurry or drop out during the printing process. Halftone of black is used to represent gray. 3
