In spite of the recession and the uneasy times in information and technology markets, Unicorn Systems posted its best-ever financial results from its more-than-20-year history. We generated sales of CZK 1.35 billion of which the delivery of services accounted for more than 93%, in particular in the building-up, integration, operation, and support of information systems. Income generated abroad accounted for more than 31% of sales. Our success is based on high-added value products and services and the superior quality of our long-term cooperation with our clients. We have been cooperating with some of them for more than 15 years. For many years, we have been a stable supplier to the largest financial institutions and telecommunications companies in the Czech Republic, such as Komerční banka, Česká spořitelna, Československá obchodní banka, Allianz pojišťovna, Česká pojišťovna, Vodafone, Telefónica, and T-Mobile. The circle of our clients is, however, far broader. We provide services to the logistical company DHL, the retailer Tesco, the ŠKODA AUTO automobile group, and ČEPS, the Czech electricity transmission system operator. Although Unicorn Systems was established in the Czech Republic, we deliver our products and services to customers throughout Europe, and in 2012 we expanded our foreign operations even further. Our most important clients in Slovakia include Tatra banka, Všeobecná úverová banka, Poštová banka, Slovenská sporiteľňa, SEPS, and Orange. In Western Europe last year, we obtained references from major energy companies such as TenneT, APX-ENDEX, BritNed, EirGrid, and ENTSO-E. I thank all our customers and business partners for their confidence, which we very greatly appreciate and which we strive to yet enhance through products and services delivered at the agreed quality, scope, time and budget. We continuously strive to expand the portfolio of our products and services, increase the professional expertise of our co-workers, and improve production as well as supporting processes. We have expanded our products and services portfolio, for example, by adding Damas Trade for energy traders and the 6
7 AV ÝN RN OU ČA NL Í R Z E P P R OÁ RV T A 2 0 1x 2x situational geospatial Space-Time Awareness Server system. We systematically train our co-workers in the comprehensive Unicorn Top Gun Academy educational program, in particular in the knowledge required for the proper software development and delivery. There were 152 training courses held in the Unicorn Top Gun Academy in 2012, and 41 new courses were prepared. We are carrying on in the extensive application of the Unicorn Universe Process to all of our core and supporting corporate processes; in 2012, we expanded and improved work procedures, primarily in production and project management. I also thank all our co-workers whose work and, above all, abilities contribute to our customers satisfaction as well as to the overall results of Unicorn Systems. The aim of Unicorn Systems for 2013 is to continue to provide high-quality ICT services and solutions with a high added value and to acquire new customers at home and abroad. I trust that we will manage to meet the goals we set for ourselves and that 2013 will be yet another successful year for Unicorn Systems. Jiří Mráz Managing Director 7
