7 Cargo Marine cargo, goods in transit and storage risks Every business that makes or trades in physical products needs some form of cargo insurance, yet all too often importers and exporters tell their brokers that they ve already got it covered. Our expert knowledge helps policyholders take control of costs and cover When their storage and distribution needs are catered for by commercial combined policies, many businesses simply relinquish control of the insurance of imports and exports, leaving it to suppliers or freight forwarders. Our specialist underwriters help brokers to explain the pitfalls of this approach, securing better cover for their clients while also saving them money. Further benefits are achieved by packaging the import, export, storage, and distribution risks into one stock throughput policy. Where exporters need certificates of insurance to comply with Incoterms requirements, particularly where Letters of Credit are involved, our online NMU Certs system gives them the ability to produce electronic certificates in-house. Where there are also installation risks, we offer a hybrid wording, which can of course cover overseas contracts. Terrorism cover is automatically given during transit, and is available as an extension for storage risks.

9 Worldwide cover that sets us apart from the competition Engineering Construction, plant, machinery and electronic equipment In addition to offering the standard range of construction, machinery and computer insurances, we like to go one step further. Using our marine insurance expertise, we ve created hybrid products that seamlessly incorporate cover for international transits. And we re not shy of covering offshore or overseas exposures either. All of which means we can offer single project or annual CAR cover to a wider range of professionals, including installers and project managers. Similarly, when it comes to EAR risks, we routinely cover those with overseas contracts, again including marine transits. And of course we still give all the cover you d expect, such as testing and commissioning, maintenance period and defects liability (DE4) cover.
