2 Actuarial Functions Take Center Stage in Insurance as Regulations Tighten and Combined Ratios Inflate Insurance is one sector where the sheer risk associated with the business environment necessitates stringent regulatory systems. Recent changes in the regulatory climate in Insurance have created an increasing need for actuaries and actuarial services. 4 B. Actuarial Consultant The Actuarial Consultant is an individual contributor who can work as a member of a team or as an independent resource. The Actuarial Consultant works at the direction of a team leader and/or the customer either from offshore locations in WNS facilities or on the customer's site. The skill set of an Actuarial Consultant is as follows: n3-4 years of actuarial experience nfocuses on specific areas of concentration within the Actuarial space nknowledgeable in all areas within the Actuarial space nhighly competent in the use of actuarial tools and software programs C. Senior Actuary The Senior Actuary can work as an individual contributor, as the member of a team of actuaries conducting a project to produce a specific deliverable, or as the leader of small teams of actuaries. Senior Actuaries work from offshore locations in WNS facilities or on the customer's site to accomplish actuarial goals. The skill set of a Senior Actuary is as follows: n4-6 years of actuarial experience nplays a customer-facing role to define assignments, establish requirements and set actuarial goals nproduces specifications for actuarial deliverables ndevelops and maintains actuarial models ndocuments and maintains audit trails nholds a CT series qualification D. Lead Actuary The Lead Actuary can take responsibility for sophisticated actuarial tasks as an individual contributor or can lead teams of actuaries in the accomplishment of actuarial projects or the production of specific actuarial deliverables. Lead Actuaries can perform their duties from offshore locations in WNS facilities or on the customer's site.
