16 3.4 Assignment of Risk-Weights for Portfolio Under the Standardised Approach (contd.) For the purpose of determining counterparty risk-weights, the Bank uses external credit assessments from Rating Agency Malaysia ("RAM"), Malaysian Rating Corporation ("MARC"), Standard and Poor's ("S&P"), Moody's, and Fitch. In the context of the Bank's portfolio, external credit assessments are mainly applicable to banks/financial institutions and rated corporations. The Bank follows the process prescribed under BNM CAFIB-Basel II to map the ratings to the relevant risk weights.
