2 Overview What s included? Outdoor spaces and large venues with multiple entry points are likely to share the same key problems...uneven Wi-Fi coverage and the potential for customers to gain entry with fraudulent copies of the same ticket at different entry points. You can resolve these problems using the TicketSource scanner kits. Our networked kits let you scan tickets at multiple entry points and validate them in real time against your TicketSource account, using either a 3G/4G or Wi-Fi connection. The outcome of each scan appears on the scanner s screen, while the live Scan Report in your TicketSource account is updated instantaneously. Each scanner unit consists of a point-and-click scanner fitted around an iphone. You can order as many or as few units as you need. Ticket validation is facilitated via a data link to our live server using your own Wi-Fi connection if available, or via a 3G/4G mobile signal. Preloaded 3G/4G mobile data SIMs are supplied as part of the package. The cost of hiring scanner kits includes next day insured courier delivery and return. This solution enables you to use multiple scanners at multiple entry points, safe in the knowledge that once a ticket has been scanned then the same ticket (or copies of it) cannot be used again at any entry point. 2

3 How to use The scanner kits are simple to use, so even your most inexperienced staff will be able to validate tickets with speed, ease and confidence. The outcome is displayed on the scanner screen and your TicketSource account is updated in real-time via a data link to our live server. 4 Hiring the Scanner Kit Whilst on loan, a bond is held against your ticket income, pending the safe return of the scanner kit to us. The bond is as follows: First handset + charging station: VAT Each additional handset: VAT Upon satisfactory inspection of the returned hardware, the deposit will be released and transferred to your bank account. A small non-refundable charge is deducted from event ticket monies to cover the hire of the handset, mobile SIM, insured courier delivery of the handset to you, and its return to TicketSource. 5 Rental Terms & Conditions TICKETSOURCE SCANNING KIT 1. Hire eligibility. An Event Organiser (known as the HIRER ) becomes eligible to hire TicketSource Scanning Kit once the event requiring the hire of the equipment has online (i.e. credit or debit card booking) ticket sales that will cover the cost of the bond and hire charges (see point 3 Cost and 4 Bond below for details). If the scanner hire is for a free event or for Stripe integrated accounts, an invoice for the bond and cost will be issued and confirmation of the hire will not be made until payment has been received. If insufficient ticket income is held on account, the bond will be required to be paid prior to hire. 2. Rental Period. Equipment is rented for a set number of days and cannot be extended. The rental period will be confirmed in writing at the time of booking. 3. Cost. A small fee will be levied per handset to cover the cost of set-up, SIM, courier and insurance during transit. Please contact TicketSource to obtain a quote for your required number of handsets. The total cost will be debited from your ticket settlement at the conclusion of your event. An invoice will be provided for you to account for this deduction. 4. Bond. A bond is required as a condition for renting the equipment. The bond is plus VAT for the first handset and charging station, VAT for each additional handset. The bond is held against event ticket monies (or against a pre-paid bond for free events/low ticket revenue events/stripe integrated accounts) pending the safe return of the hardware to TicketSource. Upon satisfactory inspection of the returned hardware, the bond will be released and transferred to your bank account. TicketSource shall be entitled to use the bond/part of the bond to pay for the replacement of any damaged or un-returned items. An example of some replacement/repair costs (excluding VAT) are (but not limited to): Phone Case Scanner unit Charging doc Damaged screen Delivery and Return. Shipment will be made via DPD on the agreed date. Unless the Hirer notifies TicketSource to the contrary within 48 hours of delivery, it shall be conclusively presumed that the Equipment was delivered to the Hirer in good working condition. For return of the equipment, TicketSource will organise for DPD to collect the equipment and the equipment must be packed in the original boxing and ready to be returned on the agreed date and collected from the agreed location. If the courier is unable to collect the equipment from the agreed location on the agreed date, additional delivery charges will be levied at the Hirer and a penalty charge of for every day beyond the agreed return date that the equipment is not returned. 8. Warranty: TicketSource s Liability. TicketSource will ensure that when the equipment is dispatched it will be in good operating condition. The Hirer must test the equipment prior to the event to ensure that the equipment is working and notify TicketSource immediately of any faults. Whilst TicketSource will ensure that the equipment is in working order the Hirer acknowledges that there will be no remit for damages should the equipment fail or not perform in the advertised manner. 9. Ownership: Use. The equipment shall remain the property of TicketSource and is provided to the Hirer solely on a loan basis without any option to purchase. The Hirer shall not remove, sublease, rent, transfer, assign, sell, alter, modify or encumber the equipment without TicketSource s prior written consent. 10. Service. TicketSource shall, at its expense, endeavour to repair or replace any equipment which is found to be defective during the rental period. In the event the equipment does not operate properly, the Hirer shall notify TicketSource and request instruction before taking any remedial action or before returning it to TicketSource. 11. Safekeeping. The Hirer is responsible for the safekeeping of the equipment and shall bear the risk of any loss, theft, damage (including rain damage) or destruction of the equipment and shall ensure the equipment against such risk of loss. In the event that the equipment requires repair as a result of accident or the Hirer s unauthorised tampering or repair or negligence, misuse or abuse of such item, the Hirer shall bear the entire cost of repair or replacing the equipment, including delivery costs. At TicketSource s discretion, the Hirer shall forfeit aforementioned bond for any item which is lost, stolen, destroyed or damaged beyond repair. 12. Cancellation of Rental. If the Hirer chooses not to proceed with the rental of the equipment, the Hirer must advise TicketSource in writing no later than five (5) working days prior to the start of the rental period. If notification is received up to five (5) working days prior to the start of the rental period, no costs will be incurred by the Hirer. If notification is received five working days or less prior to the start of the rental period, TicketSource will be entitled to seek reimbursement of any costs already incurred such as pre-booking of courier services or sim cards. 13. Indemnification of TicketSource. The Hirer shall indemnify, hold harmless and defend TicketSource from all claims, action and damages, including attorney s fees, arising out of the Equipment and its use, rental possession, operation, condition, purchase and return, including without limitation any such claims arising out of theory of strict liability in tort, which obligations shall survive termination of this Agreement. 6. Permitted Use. TicketSource Scanning Kit equipment must only be used to access TicketSource services. The equipment must not be used for any other activity such as personal/business internet usage, installing new software or the adjustment of default settings. 7. Performance of Scanners. Hirers are advised that for bright, outdoor environments the performance of scanners may diminish when scanning mobile tickets due to glare. Hirers are recommended to switch off mobile tickets as a ticket delivery method for such events. Scanners are electrical devices and can be damaged by water. TicketSource recommends that Hirers with outdoor events provide cover for scanner operators to prevent potential rain damage to the scanners. Interested in hiring one?
