2 The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) library service supports the learning, research and information needs of members, academics, university students and anyone interested in actuarial science worldwide. The library collections cover the full spectrum of actuarial science, including areas such as insurance, pensions, investment, finance, health and care and risk management. Resources A collection of over 10,000 books, papers and conference proceedings focussed on actuarial science. Current journals and trade magazines covering all areas of professional practice. Thousands of electronic journal articles and ebooks available to members anywhere in the world 24 hours a day. An online library catalogue of over 40,000 references to books, papers and articles, many with links to full text content. Access to core reading, course notes and textbooks for IFoA Fellowship, CERA and Certified Actuarial Analyst qualifications. Reference access to a collection of landmark texts in the development of actuarial science bringing to life the history of actuaries and their profession.

Reading lists on actuarial and related topics on our website available to download. Literature searching service available on any topic. Biographical information and obituaries of members of the IFoA and their predecessor bodies. Loans and document supply Postal loans from our hard copy collections are available to members worldwide. Instant access for members to thousands of journal papers via our elibrary Inter Library Loans service for books and papers that are not in our collections. Archives of the Society for Equitable Assurances since 1762, later the Equitable Life, the first company to write life assurance on actuarial principles and to designate the role of Actuary in modern insurance. Archives of the Institute of Actuaries, the Faculty of Actuaries, the Association of Scottish Life Offices and selected actuarial societies.
