Board Development Read by Jackie Hoyhtya School Counseling rogram Carrie Cremers presented a ower oint outlining the school social worker duties. 2 Committee Reports Director s Report Athlos Report Monthly Financials Report and Enrollment Update demographics, shared data, outlined where her time is spent, and ideas for next year. Update on progress on key priorities at AASC Dr Best spoke about the wonderful turnout for our school dance. Finishing MCA tests this week. April 27 th institute day will focus on trauma. Variety of recruitment events coming up. Staff evaluations are ongoing. Enrollment is being monitored for staffing needs. Recognizing scholars weekly. arents advisory council is meeting this week to address various needs. Uniform implementation is being well received. 5 working groups are in place planning for school year. Update on homecourt projects being conducted to support AASC Community relations team is focusing on recruitment. illars team is looking at 3 rd quarter STAR data. Key operational support is managing new enrollments and various other duties. Motion to receive directors report and Athlos report: March Financial Statements and Enrollment Update 625 students enrolled today. ADM is 663. Intent to re-enroll is 93%. Jeff discussed the enrollment tracker and possible enrollment for next year. Jeff discussed cash on hand, assets, revenues, and expenses. 3 Governance Committee Josh gave an overview of the finance committee meeting. Enrollment, staffing, budget, technology needs, salary schedule, employee contract template. Motion to approve finance committee report and monthly financials: olicy Review, Committee Membership Stephanie is absent so this will be discussed next month. Discussion Items Student erformance Update Third Quarter STAR Data Jeff discussed the proficiency of the students in reading and math. Reviewed STAR data. Dr Best stated we are taking positive steps to provide more intensive support to increase scores Budget Discuss high level budget priorities for the school year Jeff and Richard Best and Jeff Staff Recruitment and Hiring lan Action Items WBWF Committee Appointments Intends to have the draft budget to finance committee in May. Built the budget for enrollment at 600, 650, 700, 750. Jeff presented a spreadsheet to the board with different staffing and budget items that may impact the overall fund balance, depending on the enrollment. Board discussion followed. Update on the plan for teacher and staff hiring for the school year Dr Thomas-Reynolds discussed the budget, salaries, and contracts for next year. 4 Governance Committee Appointments Salary Schedule Review olicy Amendment Enrollment Caps WBWF acts as an advisory committee to make sure the school is meeting academic goals and will relay that information to the board. The board suggested putting this information into the parent newsletter to engage people to become members of this committee. Motion to put on next months agenda: Appointment to Governance Committee Stephanie is absent so this will be discussed next month. Motion to move to next month: Discuss salary schedule for upcoming school year Salary schedule presented has the same cost of living adjustment as District 742. Motion to approve salary schedule: olicy 5404 Uniform Dress olicy Discussed changes to uniform policy. Clarified second layer of clothing, pullover hoodies are not permitted. Bandanas are not allowed. Violations are handled according to student discipline policy. Motion to approve uniform policy 5404: Cindy Kurilla Revisit grade level enrollment caps for the school year Jeff went over enrollment and grade level caps. Board discussion. Motion to leave the caps where they are and revisit next month: Mikey Lucia and Jeff Governance Committee and Jeff Jackie Hoyhtya and Jeff age 4 of 5

5 School Leader Recommendations New Hires 2 nd : Make recommendations to Athlos Academies for the hiring of a school leader for AASC for the School Year 3 candidates went through a series of meet and greets. Andrea stated her appreciation for everyone s involvement. School board open discussion about the 3 candidates. The school board is unanimous in putting Randy Vetsch as their #1 choice.
