2 APPLYING FOR YOUR TIER 4 VISA APPLICATION OVERSEAS Once you have received your CAS statement, you will need to make your Tier 4 visa application online. P L E A S E R E A D T H I S G U I D E V E R Y C A R E F U L L Y B E F O R E A P P L Y I N G F O R Y O U R V I S A.

3 1. LOW RISK COUNTRIES 3. PILOT SCHEME If you are a Low Risk National, you don't always have to provide your qualifications or evidence of your maintenance funds when you make your visa application. However, the Immigration Officials reserve the right to request the full range of documents in all cases. Therefore you must inform us if you are asked to submit documents after you have paid your visa application fee. You can check if your country is low risk in the following link - rules/immigration-rules-appendix-h-tier-4- documentary-requirements. If you are a low risk national, applying from outside your home country, you may have to provide your documents 2. NON-LOW RISK COUNTRIES If you are not from a low risk country, you will have to provide your qualifications or evidence of your maintenance funds when you make your visa application - If you are a pilot scheme student, you do not need to include documentation to show you meet financial requirements with your visa application - You do not need to include evidence of your academic qualifications with your visa application - You still need to meet Immigration Rules - However, the Immigration Officials reserve the right to request the full range of documents in all cases. Therefore you must inform us if you are asked to submit documents after you have paid your visa application fee. - If you are a Pilot Scheme student, you will be granted six months' leave after your course ends,which is useful if you want to look for work while you are in the UK - You can find more information on the pilot scheme in the following link -

4 1. APPLY START BY VISITING THE GOV.UK WEBSITE AND ENSURE YOU HAVE READ THROUGH EACH STEP You will want to start by clicking on apply online which will take you to the following page:

5 2. Click Create an account to start your application.

6 3. Choose Tier 4 (General) Student Visa if you are a self funding student. Choose Tier 4 student visa (for Chevening, Marshall and Commonwealth scholars) if you are a sponsored student. You are considered a sponsored student if you receive financial sponsorship from the UK Government, your Home Government, the British Council or any international company, University or a UK independent school. Click NEXT to continue

7 4. Register your address and create a password for your account. Click save and continue

8 5. Start your application Please enter your first name and family name as shown in your current passport

9 6. Your CAS number is 14 digits long and usually starts with the letter E, it was sent to you in a PDF by us

10 7. Enter your current home address, and contact details

11 8. Choose your Gender and your relationship status

12 9. Enter your nationality, Date Of Birth, and country of birth, exactly as they appear on your passport

13 10. Include your passport number as listed in your current passport. It should match the passport number on your CAS statement, let us know as soon as possible if it doesn t.

14 11. Select your intended date of arrival. If you don t know exactly, just put an estimate and your length of stay should refer to your intended programme of study.

15 12. If you have a spouse or partner, include their details here, even if they won t come to the UK with you.

16 13. Provide details of both of your parents in this section

17 14. If you don t know your UK address yet, you can list the Goldsmiths address on your CAS statement if you don t have anywhere else available yet.

28 25. You need to make an Immigration Health Surcharge payment, find out more at - rationapplication There will be a question where it asks if your course is NQF Level 7. The 'NQF' level is the same as 'RQF' level, it is just that the Home Office have not yet updated the terminology on the IHS payment website.

29 Important --- BRP Collection ACL Code (2HE537) Once you have paid your health surcharge, you should be asked to select a delivery location. You must use the Goldsmiths code (2HE537) so that your visa is delivered to Goldsmiths. If you don t, your enrolment will be delayed. Please contact us before you pay your final application fee if you are unsure about this step.
