1 conference room, ecobank headquarters LOMé (TOGO) 2-6 MArch 2015 RPCA Restricted meeting of the food crisis PReVENTION network Organised by the Executive Secretariat of the Permanent Inter-State Committee for Drought Control in the Sahel (CILSS) and the Sahel and West Africa Club Secretariat (SWAC/OECD) under the auspices of the Commissions of ECOWAS and UEMOA 2-4 March RPCA meeting and Senior Experts Group (SEG-AGIR) 5 March Technical meeting on the current tools and methods for measuring resilience 6 March Steering Committee meeting on the external evaluation of the Charter and on formulating a common tool for measuring resilience draft AGENDA O rganised by the Executive Secretariat of the Permanent Inter-State Committee for Drought Control in the Sahel (CILSS) and the Sahel and West Africa Club Secretariat (SWAC/OECD) under the auspices of the Commissions of ECOWAS and UEMOA, the restricted meeting of the Food Crisis Prevention Network (RPCA) is being held in a regional context marked by the Ebola epidemic. The RPCA meeting will provide a forum to discuss the functioning of markets and its impact on food and nutrition security in order to reach a consensus on measures to address any potential crises. Discussions will also focus on the impact of the Ebola epidemic on the regional agricultural market and on food and nutrition security, as well as its implications for the Network in terms of tools and methods available for collecting and analysing data in a crisis situation. In addition, the RPCA meeting will be an opportunity to review initial findings of the external evaluation of the Charter for Food Crisis Prevention and Management and to take stock of progress made in formulating National Resilience Priorities (NRP-AGIR) within the Global Alliance for Resilience (AGIR) Sahel and West Africa. Lastly, participants will have a chance to discuss the operationalisation of the Regional Food Security Reserve as well as next steps towards the formulation of a common tool for analysing and measuring resilience. ObjectiVEs Produce a diagnosis of the food and nutrition situation and propose concrete measures to address any potential crises that could affect the most vulnerable populations; Assess the impact of the Ebola epidemic on food and nutrition security and help identify the lessons learned and implications in terms of tools and methods available for collecting and analysing data in a crisis situation; Take stock of the actions underway and key achievements in order to identify urgent measures that must be taken to speed up the Regional Food Security Reserve process.
