When we were funded in 1988 by 10 nn-prfit husing prviders, it was a different time and place. But the need fr husing and fr cllabratin and fr visin was the same in many ways as it is tday. The need cntinues t grw, but s d we. Nw we number ver 150 members representing all facets f the affrdable husing industry, including develpers, wners, managers, husing authrities, majr financial institutins, architects, cntractrs, accuntants, and gvernment agencies. Despite the variety in ur membership, we have a single cmmn purpse: t ensure that all peple live with dignity in safe, healthy, and affrdable hmes within cmmunities f pprtunity. Over the last 30 years, HDC has made a tremendus impact in the effrt t alleviate the husing crisis thrugh systems change wrk, frm passing funding levies, t advcating fr new pr-husing legislatin and plicies, t brkering relatinships between sectrs that create win-win husing slutins, and s much mre. I am prud t serve as the current Bard President as we celebrate this milestne, and ur cllective effrts.
