Overview This Intersectral Wrkshp is part f the activities f the Inter-American Cnference f Ministers f Labr (IACML), and the Inter-American Cmmittee n Educatin (CIE) f the Organizatin f American States (OAS). It is c- rganized by the authrities f these Ministerial frums, the General Secretariat f the OAS and the Gvernment f Brazil, thrugh the Ministries f Labr and Educatin. The Wrkshp will gather fficials frm the Ministries f Labr and Educatin f the member states f the OAS, and ther stakehlders, t analyze and discuss strategies t imprve the situatin f yuth in the labr market, which is ne f the greatest challenges f the Americas tday, and ne f the areas with the highest pririty. 1

2 The specific bjectives f this event are: Learn abut the strategies adpted by the Ministries f Educatin and Labr t imprve educatin and vcatinal training systems, and prepare the labr frce cnsidering each cuntry s develpment needs, and prductive sectr demands. In the framewrk f these strategies, it is imprtant t recgnize the changes t the wrld f wrk and the demands impsed by new technlgies, and the s-called furth industrial revlutin n emplyment, educatin, and training. Identify and analyze specific cllabratin and crdinatin initiatives between the Ministries f Educatin and Labr in the regin t imprve the labr inclusin f yuth. Identify lessns learned and plicy recmmendatins. Funding: Fllwing a c-financing mdel, the OAS, with resurces frm the RIAL fund, will cver ldging fr sme representatives f Ministries f Labr and Educatin frm small ecnmies, and representatives f COSATE and CEATAL. The airline tickets and ther expenses must be cvered by each participating institutin. In exceptinal cases, the pssibility f cvering airline tickets with RIAL funds will be analyzed. Resurces are limited and requests fr financial assistance will be analyzed and granted n a firstcme, first-served basis.
