Welcome and introduction Morning session: by Marcel Jortay, Director sectoral & regional statistics, Eurostat 2. Adoption of the agenda 3. DIMESA mandate The updated DIMESA mandate was submitted to the ESSC in November The mandate was adopted and its final version is available on the 'Register of Commission expert groups'. The mandates of the working groups that report to DIMESA are also being updated. The ones adopted by the working groups before June 2015 will be submitted to DIMESA for approval. 4. Rotation of DIMESA Bureau members Some degree of member rotation is foreseen for DIMESA Bureau. If a member wants to step down then DIMESA will be asked for volunteers. 5. Preparation of the draft agenda for DIMESA June 2015 DIMESA 2015 is scheduled for 10 and 11 June. Annex I contains the draft DIMESA agenda. Each proposed item will be briefly presented to the Bureau members who are invited to comment and finalise the DIMESA agenda. Follow-up to the joint EEA MB DIMESA workshop in June 2014 Eurostat will briefly recall the action points coming from the June 2014 joint EEA MB DIMESA workshop and will inform DIMESA where on the agenda these action points will be covered. Mandates of DIMESA and working groups that report to DIMESA 5.1 DIMESA mandate The updated DIMESA mandate was submitted to the ESSC in November The mandate was adopted and its final version is available on the 'Register of Commission expert groups'. 5.2 Mandates of working groups that report to DIMESA After the approval of the DIMESA mandate by the ESSC, the mandates of the working groups that report to DIMESA are also being updated and adopted gradually by the working groups. Vision 2020 Eurostat will give an overview of the latest developments regarding Vision 2020 implementation (5 min) (20 min) (15 min) 4

Revised Regulation EC N o 223/2009 Eurostat will present the implications of the revised Regulation EC N o 223/ Statistical work programme 2016 Eurostat will present the main objectives of the draft work programme in the environmental domain for This part of the work programme covers statistical activities under the priority areas: 'Europe 2020', 'Environmental sustainability' and 'Geospatial, environmental, agricultural and other sectoral statistics'. European regional and environmental policy update: DGs ENV and CLIMA [plus ENER and REGIO if they attend] (15 min) (20 min) (15 min) (45 min) The DGs will update DIMESA on the latest developments and implementation of current policies, new priorities and statistical needs. They will also inform DIMESA how and at which level statistics are used to assess the situation and trends in the EU regarding different environmental areas. 10. Indicators: Europe 2020, SDI and resource efficiency indicators 10.1 Europe 2020 indicators Eurostat will present the state of play of the Europe 2020 strategy and new initiatives and future actions Resource efficiency Eurostat will present the changes in the resource efficiency scoreboard since The scoreboard presents a set of 30 indicators for monitoring the implementation of the Europe 2020 flagship initiative on resource efficiency. Eurostat will also describe briefly the data centre on natural resources (15 min) (15 min) Lunch break 12:50 14:00 Afternoon session: Sustainable development indicators Eurostat will de-brief DIMESA on the Sustainable development and Europe 2020 working group meeting in March UNSD will be asked to present a summary of the international process to develop sustainable development goals (SDGs). Eurostat will analyse the relevance of these and other new developments for the ESS and present new initiatives and future actions (25 min) 5

Statistical activities of European and international organisations: EEA, JRC, OECD and UN Based on summary papers, the JRC, EEA, OECD and UN will briefly inform DIMESA about their statistical initiatives and activities since April The presenters will also address how statistics and other information are used to assess the situation and trends in the EU and beyond regarding the areas of competence of DIMESA. The EEA will update DIMESA on the 'European environment - state and outlook 2015 report' (SOER). Coffee break (50 min) (15 min) 12. Environmental economic accounts 12.1 Report on progress made in the areas of environmental accounts Eurostat will report on the progress in environmental accounts Regulation on European environmental economic accounts implementing act Eurostat will present a draft of the implementing act foreseen in Regulation EU N o 691/2011. The draft implementing act addresses three separate topics: indicative compendium for environmental goods and services sector; technical format of data transmissions for environmental accounts and modalities, structure and periodicity of the quality reports for environmental accounts. [EoV to be launched for this item.] 12.3 Regulation on European environmental economic accounts delegated act Eurostat will present a draft of the delegated act foreseen in Regulation EU N o 691/2011. The draft delegated act specifies the list of energy products to be used for physical energy flow accounts. Transport, energy and environment statistics 13.1 Transport statistics Eurostat will present the recent developments in transport statistics (e.g. emissions by the transport sector, passenger mobility and road traffic) Energy statistics Coffee break Eurostat will report on the recent developments in energy statistics, which are undertaken in order to meet the requirements of policy makers for monitoring energy efficiency, the security of energy supply, environmental impacts and the competitiveness of energy markets Waste statistics and chemicals Eurostat has continued the work on waste indicators and will present progress made on a recycling indicator. In addition, Eurostat will update DIMESA on the activities of the data centre on waste (30 min) (15 min) (40 min) (30 min) 14. Land use and land cover statistics, ecosystem accounts and regional statistics 14.1 Regional, urban and rural statistics: legal framework of territorial classifications and typologies for European statistics Eurostat will propose to establish a legal framework covering the territorial classifications and typologies for European statistics to satisfy long term EU policy needs.
