1 The Hon ble Finance Minister is likely to present on 1st February 2018, India s first post-gst and last full budget before the general elections of The industry and the common man are expecting a slew of reforms particularly with regards to tax slabs, deductions and exemptions. This year, the expectations of a tax friendly budget are even higher. The industry is urging the government to cut corporate tax rates in order to make the Indian industry competitive on a global level. It is expected that the Union budget will throw light on the government s thought process on how it intends to steer the economy going forward. It may also provide hints on government steps further to increase tax base in the country.
