1 Sauder Sports is Hiring! Sauder Sports is recruiting a new energetic team for the 2013/2014 school year! This year s team is looking to ramp up the Sauder Health and Wellness movement by hosting sweet sports related competitions, Yoga, Fitness and health events, and some awesome socials throughout the year. We are also here to provide the support and love we know all our REC teams deserve. If you love sports, health and fitness almost as much as you love Sauder then apply to join the Sauder Sports Team! To apply, please submit the following to Kelly Kong at kelly.kong@cus.ca by Sunday, April 8 p.m. Interviews will be held during the following week based on availability. 1) An updated resume highlighting your relevant experiences (Lastname_Firstname_Resume) 2) A cover letter answering the following questions: What can you bring that is unique to the Sauder Sports team next year? 2 Sauder Sports Vice- Chair Job Description Title of Position Vice- Chair Portfolio Engagement Portfolio Service Sauder Sports Summary The Vice- Chair is responsible for overseeing all activities of the committee, and ensuring a high attendance at all Sauder Sports hosted events. This individual will facilitate and lead a team to help grow the Health and Fitness movement in Sauder. Summer: 5 hours per week Time Commitment During the school year: 8-10 hours per week (15 hours during peak times) Term of Employment April 2013 April 2014 Main Responsibilities Working with the director overseeing the planning and coordination of events Building a Sauder Sports, marketing strategy with the VP Marketing Working with the Program Coordinators to effectively run a smooth event- - insuring the marketing, logistics, and scheduling are all streamlined Generating new ideas for events and cross- promotion opportunities Providing support whenever needed to all the team coordinators/members In charge of booking meeting rooms and taking minutes Provide support to Sauder REC sport teams In charge of planning 3 Sauder Sports events for the school year (With help of other team members)
3 Qualifications This individual must be very organized, enthusiastic, motivated to work hard and long hours to make all Sauder Sports events turn out great Experience and willingness to work with and lead people Organizational and management experience is an asset Someone with has a passion for sports and contains contagious Sauder Spirit is an asset Anticipated Learning Outcomes The Sauder Sports Vice- Chair should be able to develop their communication skills throughout their term. As the Vice- Chair incumbents will also be able to meet and develop connections with business professionals, and learn how to work well and lead a diverse team. 4 Sauder Sports VP Finance Job Description Title of Position VP Finance Portfolio Engagement Portfolio Service Sauder Sports Summary As VP Finance you are responsible for keeping Sauder Sports events and programs within a decent budget. This person will be the link with the CUS and program coordinators/members to facilitate reimbursements, and to request further funding. Time Commitment Summer: 5 hours per week During the school year: 5-10 hours per week Term of Employment April 2013 April 2014 Main Responsibilities Qualifications In charge of maintaining the teams budget and keeping it up to date throughout the year This person will be working directly with the CUS and Sauder REC teams so as to expedite the reimbursement process Will also be the point of contact with the CUS and Program Coordinators to fund events This person must have a good attention to detail, be organized and responsible Someone who works well with numbers and balancing budgets Someone who can find creative alternatives to staying under budget is an asset Someone with a passion for sports and has too much Sauder Spirit Anticipated Learning Outcomes Sauder Sports VP Finance should be able to develop their communication skills throughout their term. As VP Finance, incumbents will also be able to meet and develop connections with business professionals. In addition, incumbents will have opportunities to use and develop skills in (but not

6 Sauder Sports VP Marketing Job Description Title of Position VP Marketing Portfolio Engagement Portfolio Service Sauder Sports Summary As VP Marketing, you will be in charge of creating and maintaining the Sauder Sports, Brand. This includes creating promotions for all health, wellness and fitness programs, social media and website layout management. Summer: 8 hours per week Time Commitment During the school year: 5-10 hours per week 15 hours during peak times Term of Employment April 2013 April 2014 Main Responsibilities Qualifications Anticipated Learning Outcomes In charge of all marketing activities to brand and market Sauder Sports This person is in charge of making all promotional material help increase event/program attendance Maintaining and updating online materials (Website, Facebook group, Twitter etc) Also in charge of Sauder Sports monthly activity calendar, showing class schedule of Yoga and Bootcamp, monthly Health and Wellness initiatives, and other Sauder sports flagship events An enthusiastic individual who is creative, ambitious and works well with others This individual must be extremely strong in visual media (Photoshop) will be in charge of creating all the promotional material for Sauder Sports, including photo shoots, website layout, blasts, and social media management Individual should be up to date with current marketing trends Web designing experience would be a major asset Loves sports and has too much Sauder Spirit The VP Marketing should be able to develop their communication skills throughout their term. As VP Marketing, incumbents will also be able to

Coordination of equipment, instructors, promotion and high fair and initiative attendance is of your greatest concern, with the goal of growing the health and wellness movement in Sauder.
