This project is part of a long-term project to migrate the SCADA system from radio connectivity to underground fiber connectivity for more responsive and reliable monitoring of water connectivity sites and sewage pump stations. Action(s) requested or suggested motion(s): Three actions would be implemented with approval of the Consent Agenda. The Council will: adopt an amendment to the FY budget in the amount of $45,000 to cover costs of a fiber connection to the Holly Springs Road water booster station and to upgrade the SCADA monitoring system at the site. approve the construction of fiber to the Holly Springs Road water booster station utilizing City of Wilson construction resources which is quoted in the amount of $20,647, utilizing the Town s utility services agreement with Wilson. approve the upgrade of the SCADA control and monitoring systems at the Holly Springs Road water booster station as quoted by the Town s vendor MICROCOMM in the amount of $23,948. 3 City Of Wilson Professional Services Proposal Project Name: Connect Water Pump Station to IT Backbone Holly Springs Road Project Manager: Gene Scott Date: Version: 1 Scope of Work: This proposal provides placing conduit and fiber cable to connect a water pump station located along Holly Springs Road to the existing IT network. It is proposed to place approximately 735 feet of 1 ½ pipe, 1035 of 12F SM loose tube cable ( includes slack), two 24 X 36 vaults equipped with tier 22 lids, a locate wire and a spare mule tape. Direction bore will be the method of construction. Evidence of rock were found during the site survey and up to 240 feet of rock bore is included in this estimate. Also included in this estimate is a ring cut on the existing 48F Holly Springs cable where the new 12F cable will be spliced in to the IT facility using fiber assignments provided by Holly Springs IT staff. One of the new vaults will be placed outside the pump station with a minimum of 100 feet of slack in a coil. Holly Springs Public works personnel will place a conduit from this vault into the pump station and pull in a sufficient amount of the 12F cable to allow Holly Springs IT staff to terminate it on a panel they will provide and mount. This proposal includes labor and material to perform the work described above, project coordination, construction prints, site supervision and as built data capture. Exclusions: Work is limited to scope outlined above. Additional work requested by the Town of Holly Springs will be billed in addition to this estimate. The Town of Holly springs will be invoiced at the completion of this project against a PO provided by the Town of Holly Springs prior to the start of work. Holly Springs is responsible for the fiber optic network cabling and installation. TERMS: 1. Payment terms are net 30 days from date of shipment. 1a. Two week notice and full payment (less retainage) are required for startup of equipment. 1b. Does not include taxes, insurance or bonding. Proposal will be good for 60 days. 2. This control system provides PILOT DUTY signals to control panels and devices by others. Primary devices, i.e. motor starters, circuit breakers, control valves, and flow meters are not included unless specifically listed in this quotation 3. This proposal DOES NOT include installation of equipment by Micro-Comm, Inc., unless specifically listed in this proposal. 4.
