1 *Updated on 31/7/2015 TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE HSBC CREDIT CARD PROMOTION PROGRAMME 07/2015 SUMMER HSBC s Credit Card Promotion Campaign 07/2015 SUMMER 2015 ( Campaign ) is applied in all transaction outlets/branches and other channels registered by HSBC Bank (Vietnam) Ltd. ( HSBC ) in Vietnam. 2. Eligible products during the Campaign Period: HSBC Credit Cards issued by HSBC in Vietnam ( Cards ): HSBC Premier World MasterCard HSBC Visa Platinum Credit Card HSBC Visa Gold Credit Card HSBC Visa Classic Credit Card (Referred to as Card or HSBC Credit Card ). 3. Credit Cards which are not eligible to participate in this campaign: HSBC Business Credit Card HSBC Staff Credit Card 4. Promotion Period: from 07 July 2015 to 30 September 2015, both days inclusive. 5. Promotion Details: 5.1. Offer for new Credit Card applications: One HSBC premium foldable bag shall be awarded to the first 4,000 HSBC Credit Card applicants. a. This offer is applicable to the first 4,000 new applicants to submit their application forms for HSBC Premier World MasterCard, HSBC Visa Platinum / Visa Gold / Visa Classic Credit Cards during the period b. The gift cannot be replaced with any other products or exchanged for cash Offer for new card acquisition: a. HSBC Visa Platinum/Visa Gold/Visa Classic Credit Cards: Eligible Cardholders will enjoy VND 1,000,000 cash back when they make eligible purchase transactions totalling VND 1,000,000 or more on his/her credit cards, if their completed credit card applications with all supporting documents are submitted during the Promotion Period, accepted by HSBC and Cards are issued no later than 08/10/2015. 2 credit card transactions within a maximum of 30 days of the card issuance date. The Cardholder will receive one cash back award for the total eligible transactions made during the Promotion period. b. Primary HSBC Premier World MasterCard Credit Cards: Eligible Cardholders will enjoy VND 2,000,000 cash back when they make eligible purchase transactions totalling VND 2,000,000 or more on his/her credit cards, if their completed credit card applications with all supporting documents are submitted during the Promotion Period, accepted by HSBC and Cards are issued no later than 08/10/2015. The cash back value will be determined by the total value of credit card transactions within a maximum of 30 days of the card issuance date. The Cardholder will receive one cash back award for the total eligible transactions made during the Promotion period. c. Supplementary HSBC Premier World MasterCard Credit Cards: Eligible Cardholders will enjoy VND 1,000,000 cash back when they make eligible purchase transactions totalling VND 1,000,000 or more on his/her credit cards, if their completed credit card applications with all supporting documents are submitted during the Promotion Period, accepted by HSBC and Cards are issued no later than 08/10/2015. The cash back value will be determined by the total value of credit card transactions within a maximum of 30 days of the card issuance date. The Cardholder will receive one cash back award for the total eligible transactions made during the Promotion period. - To be eligible, Supplementary Cardholders must be Supplementary Cardholders to Primary Cardholders who have not already applied for a Supplementary Credit Card and/or have no Supplementary Credit Card before 07/07/2015. d. HSBC will award cash back no later than 11/12/2015. e. Eligible purchase transactions do not include credit card activation and cash advance transactions, including but not limited to cash advance transactions at counters, ATMs or POS and other cash advance transactions, HSBC fee-related transactions and e-wallets charging by credit. f. For the offer detailed in Clause 5.2.a., eligible purchase transactions can be made by Primary Visa Credit Cardholders or Supplementary Credit Cardholders. g. For the offer detailed in Clause 5.2.b., eligible purchase transactions must be made by Primary MasterCard Credit Cardholders. h. For the offer detailed in Clause 5.2.c., eligible purchase transactions must be made by Supplementary Credit Card holders and each total will be calculated independently according to the value of purchase transactions made by an individual Supplementary Credit Cardholder. The value of purchase transactions made by other Supplementary Cardholders shall not be calculated as part of the total value of purchase transactions of any given Supplementary Cardholder. i. In all cases, HSBC will award the cash back amount (for either eligible Primary or Supplementary Cardholders) to new eligible Primary Cardholders accounts and for one time only. 3 j. Disputed, cancelled and/or reversed transactions during the Promotion period will be deducted from the total eligible purchase amount. After eligible Cardholders have received the cash back award, if their eligible purchase transactions for redemption are cancelled or reversed, HSBC reserves the right to deduct the value of the cash back award from the Primary Cardholder s Credit Card account. k. Eligible transactions must be recorded in cardholders credit card accounts no later than 27/11/2015. Transactions that have been completed (Cardholders will receive notification messages from HSBC) but are not recorded in statements by 27/11/2015 will not be eligible. l. Any transaction deemed to be suspicious or ineligible based on transaction time, location or other factors will be deducted from the total eligible purchase amount. HSBC reserves the right to request customers to provide the financial invoice to prove that the transaction is eligible. In case the customer fails to prove that the transaction is eligible, HSBC shall deduct the transaction from the total value of eligible purchase transactions. m. HSBC reserves the right to reject any Application Form that is illegible, unclear, incomplete and/or not accompanied by supporting documents. n. Standard Terms and Conditions regarding Agreements and Eligibility Requirements for HSBC Credit Cards in accordance with HSBC s policy shall be applied. o. Credit Cardholders who refuse the offer, submit a cancellation request or cancel their credit cards before or on the cash back delivery date will be disqualified. Credit Card holders who are late paying any fees or outstanding loans to HSBC or late paying any fees or card balances to other banks will be disqualified Monthly Offers for Card Usage: a. Promotion Offers vary for each month during the Promotion Period, as follows: Promotion Offers July Offer ( Round 1 ) Monthly Offers for Redemption ( Monthly Voucher ) 100 resort voucher for a one-night stay, including: - 50 vouchers for ALMA OASIS Resort (Long Hai) valued at VND 2,850,000; and - 50 vouchers for DAI LAI resort (Vinh Phuc) valued at VND 2,400,000 Requirements Applied for eligible purchase transactions totalling VND 5,000,000 and above, made from 07/07/2015 to end of 31/07/2015, and recorded in credit card account no later than 31/07/2015 (the posting date ), and Cardholders must register successfully for Monthly Vouchers first. August Offer ( Round 2 ) 100 shopping vouchers valid at PARKSON / LOTTE Department Stores valued at VND 3,000,000, Applied for eligible purchase transactions totalling VND 5,000,000 and above, made from 01/08/2015 to end of 31/08/2015 and Issued by HSBC Bank (Vietnam) Ltd. 4 September Offer ( Round 3 ) including: - 50 shopping vouchers of PARKSON Department Store, and - 50 shopping vouchers of LOTTE Department Stores 100 dinning voucher at five-star hotels valued at VND 3,000,000, including: - 50 dining vouchers of SHERATON Saigon Hotel; and - 50 dining vouchers of SHERATON Hanoi Hotel recorded in credit card account no later than 31/08/2015 (the posting date ), and Cardholders must register successfully for Monthly Vouchers first. Applied for eligible purchase transactions totalling VND 5,000,000 and above, made from 01/09/2015 to end of 30/09/2015, and recorded in credit card account no later than 30/09/2015 (the posting date ), and Cardholders must register successfully for Monthly Vouchers first. - The redemption period is mentioned in Clause 5.5.a. b. This offer applies for Primary Cardholders with HSBC Premier World MasterCard / HSBC Visa Platinum / Visa Gold / Visa Classic Credit Cards issued by HSBC in Vietnam. c. The total amount of eligible purchase transactions for monthly redemption (as notified in 5.3.a) is calculated by the total amount of eligible purchase transactions made by Primary Cardholders and/or Supplementary Cardholders each month accordingly. d. Eligible purchase transactions do not include credit card activation and cash advance transactions, including but not limited to cash advance transactions at counters, ATMs or POS and other cash advance transactions, HSBC fee-related transactions and e-wallets charging by credit. e. For each Round, each eligible Primary Cardholder can select one type of vouchers to redeem. f. Each Primary Cardholder is eligible to redeem one Voucher for each redemption round. 5.4 Eighty (80) Vouchers for a two-night stay at VINPEARL PREMIUM DANANG valued at VND 8,550,000 ( VINPEARL VOUCHER ) a. This offer applies for the first 80 Primary Cardholders with HSBC Premier World MasterCard or HSBC Visa Platinum Credit Cards issued by HSBC in Vietnam to make purchase transactions totalling VND 30,000,000 and above during the campaign and recorded to credit card accounts no later than 30/09/2015 (the posting date); and Cardholders must register for Vinpearl Vouchers first. b. Eligible purchase transactions are calculated by the total amount of eligible purchase transactions made by Primary Cardholders and/or Supplementary Cardholders during the Promotion Period. c. Eligible purchase transactions do not include credit card activation and cash advance transactions, including but not limited to cash advance transactions at counters, ATMs or POS and other cash advance transactions, HSBC fee-related transactions and e-wallets charging by Issued by HSBC Bank (Vietnam) Ltd. 5 credit. d. Each Primary Cardholder is eligible to redeem one Voucher during the Promotion Period How to redeem a Voucher a. Step 1: - Qualified Cardholders (as notified in 5.3) must submit their Monthly Voucher redemption via the HSBC website ( as below: July offers: from 20:00 on 11/08/2015 to 19:59 on 12/08/2015. August offers: from 20:00 on 10/09/2015 to 19:59 on 11/09/2015. September offers: from 20:00 on 08/10/2015 to 19:59 on 09/10/ Qualified Cardholders (as notified in 5.3.2) must submit their Vinpearl Voucher redemption via the HSBC website ( from 20:00 on 08/10/2015 to 19:59 on 09/10/ A redemption request in each round is only eligible if the qualified Cardholder has enough eligible transaction(s), makes a redemption request and meets the following requirements: The qualified Cardholder must click on the Redeem Voucher button on HSBC s official website. Submit the redemption request within the redemption time frame set by HSBC will be eligible; AND The qualified Cardholder must accurately input all information requested on the redemption web page into the redemption form. Redemption requests with any abbreviations will be ineligible. - When making redemption request each round, eligible cardholders only select one from the two available types of vouchers. Eligible Cardholders will be classified based on the type of voucher they select to redeem. - After the qualified Cardholder completes his/her redemption request, an from HSBC will be automatically sent to his/her personal inbox. This is to notify them that his/her redemption request has been completed and that HSBC has received his/her redemption request. However, this is NOT to confirm that he/she will receive the Voucher. b. Step 2: HSBC will verify eligible transactions, the information of redemption request and redemption time of the Cardholders. - In each round of Monthly Voucher redemption, the first 50 Cardholders who have eligible transactions and make eligible the information of redemption requests for each type of vouchers will be the winning Cardholders. - The first 80 Cardholders who have eligible transactions and make eligible the information of redemption requests for Vinpearl Voucher will be the winning Cardholders. c. Step 3: Qualified Cardholders will be notified by HSBC via phone, text message and/or prize acknowledgement letter ( Prize Notification ). Issued by HSBC Bank (Vietnam) Ltd. PUBLIC Page 5

6 5.6. Other Terms: a. The eligibility of qualified Primary Credit Cardholders will be determined by the time (depend on HSBC s system), Vietnam time on the HSBC system) that HSBC receives the completed Cardholders redemption request. If more than one Cardholder registers at the same time, the qualifying Cardholder will be the one who completes their eligible transactions first. b. HSBC just solve the queries/complications about the process or result of redemption within 3 days since the date of the result is published on HSBC website ( c. Cardholders can check their purchase transaction status via Internet Banking or the HSBC Contact Centre. The transaction date is the date when a cardholder completes a transaction at a merchant while the posting date is the date when that transaction is posted on his/her credit card account. d. Any transaction deemed to be suspicious or ineligible based on transaction time, location or other factors will be deducted from the total eligible purchase amount. HSBC reserves the right to request customers to provide the financial invoice to prove that the transaction is eligible. In case the customer fails to prove that the transaction is eligible, HSBC shall deduct the transaction value from the total value of eligible purchase transactions. e. Disputes, cancelled and/or reversed transactions during the Promotion period will be deducted from the total eligible purchase amount. f. After qualified Cardholders have received their Voucher, if their eligible purchase transactions for redemption are cancelled or reversed, HSBC reserves the right to deduct the value of the Voucher from the Primary Cardholder s Credit Card account. g. Time and place to receive the Voucher: The qualified customers will receive their voucher no later than 30/11/2015 at one of the following HSBC outlets: Ho Chi Minh City Branch: Ground Floor, The Metropolitan Building, 235 Dong Khoi Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. Hanoi Branch: Ground Floor, The Pacific Place, 83B Ly Thuong Kiet Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi City. h. After 30/11/2015, qualified cardholders that reject or have not collected their Vouchers will forfeit their prizes. i. Validity of Monthly Vouchers and Vinpearl Vouchers are six (06) months from the issuance date. j. For each round of Monthly Voucher Redemption, eligible Cardholders can choose only one type of vouchers to redeem. If one Cardholder successfully redeems two types of vouchers in one round, he/she will receive one of the two types of vouchers as decided by HSBC. k. For HSBC Premier MasterCard or Visa Platinum Credit Cardholders, if Cardholders are successful in redeeming both the Monthly Voucher from the September Offers (Sheraton voucher) and Vinpearl Voucher, Cardholders shall only receive one (01) Voucher only - that Issued by HSBC Bank (Vietnam) Ltd. 7 with the highest value. l. HSBC accepts no liability for notices undelivered due to errors in contact s, addresses and/or phone numbers provided by Cardholders and/or notification letters being lost, stolen or damaged. m. The Voucher offered cannot be replaced with any other products or exchanged for cash. The above-mentioned value of each voucher is VAT-inclusive. n. After receiving their acknowledgement letters, winners must visit HSBC to receive their Voucher. Winners are required to present the original copy of their acknowledgement letter, an Identification Card or Passport and their Credit Card for verification by The Bank. If the winner authorises another person to collect their prize, the authorised person must present the original copy of his/her identification card or passport, the certified copy of the winner s identification/passport and an authorisation letter certified by the local authority. o. Credit Cardholders will lose the right to receive their prizes if they refuse the prizes, submit a cancellation request or cancel their Credit Cards before or on the date Voucher winners are announced, or if HSBC fails to contact them to notify them of their win. Credit Cardholders who are late paying any fees, card balances or outstanding loans to HSBC or other banks will be disqualified. 6. Further information and queries a. Customers can visit any HSBC branch or transaction office or contact HSBC s hot line (84 8) (South Vietnam) or (84 4) (North Vietnam) for further details of the Promotion. b. HSBC is responsible for announcing the Terms and Conditions of this Promotion and the information of the qualified cardholders (including full name, the last four digits of their primary credit card and the last four digits of their identification card/passport registered with HSBC) at HSBC s public website ( without prior notice or customer consent. 7. General terms a. Qualified cardholders will bear all costs incurred from the receipt of the promotion prize (if any). b. With the winners consent, The Bank will pay the ad hoc Personal Income Tax for the prize value on behalf of each winner as stipulated by law; customers are not required to reimburse this tax amount to HSBC. c. By participating in this promotion, customers accept that HSBC reserves the right to publish or display the name and picture of the customers in announcements and advertisements in newspapers and other media without paying any fees to the customer. d. HSBC is responsible for the accuracy of the report documents and supporting documents proving that the prizes have been delivered. HSBC is not the supplier of the items used as Prizes in the Promotion Campaign. Therefore, after collecting their Prize(s), winners must contact the Issued by HSBC Bank (Vietnam) Ltd. PUBLIC Page 7

8 supplier of the items directly if they have any inquiries or problems related to the use of the items. HSBC is not responsible for responding to inquiries and problems. e. In case of system malfunction, HSBC will re-run the redemption to ensure fairness for credit cardholders and post the announcement on this at HSBC s public website ( accordingly. f. The decisions of HSBC on all matters relating to Promotions included the result of redemption during the campaign are final, conclusive and binding. g. These Terms & Conditions are subject to change at any time. In case of any dispute arising from the Campaign, HSBC s decision shall be final, unless otherwise stated by law. h. These Terms & Conditions are made in both English and Vietnamese. In case of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the English version and Vietnamese version, the Vietnamese version shall prevail.
